My wife has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism with a concern that it is likely Hashimoto's. However, she hasn't done an antibody test yet. This isn't exactly surprising as Hashimoto's is prevalent on her father's side of the family. She needs to find an excellent endocrinologist who has experience with Hashimoto's. Many endocrinologist offices are mills for people with diabetes, and that isn't what she is looking for. Your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
