Amazing Immunity Arguments By Trump Attorneys Today

Amazingly stupid. It was so absurd, it seems likely now that once the Appeals Court rules against Trump that the SCOTUS will refuse to even take the matter up.

I mean Trump is arguing that even if he ordered a Seal Team to assassinate his rivals that he would be totally immune from prosecution absent an impeachment and conviction on that exact matter first. Good lord, the man so wishes he could be Putin.

Fortis (AR15) Manufacturing

Does anyone have experience with this weapon manufacture? I am looking at building a rifle and their AR15s caught my eye. I have never heard of them but that doesn't mean much; I've never had an AR before.

Looking for any opinions from those who have knowledge of them. How is the quality? Warranty? How easy to put together? Customer service?

Thanks for any input!

Quinn’s deep ball in 2024

There are more than a few articles quoting scouts who say the biggest thing missing in Quinn’s game for the NFL is his deep ball.

Quinn was 80 of 132 (60.7%) on passes with over 10 yards downfield this season.

IMO, if he gets that closer to 70%, Texas is in the CFP next year.

Returning to OB without a "mea culpa" weird or no?

Trying not to call anybody out (but IYKYK). Still, there's a once well-known, then basically infamous and (self?) exiled, user back in action on these boards (for a little while now), and — maybe I missed it, the acknowledgement of previous weirdness and things — but it seems like everyone is basically acting like it never happened.

I don't really care, not that much. After all, a message board is just a message board. But, this is still a community, and it does seem odd to me on some level. So, what say you? Odd or no when someone flames out in a highly bizarre way, waits a time, and then comes back like nothing happened?

Just curious.

Top Gun 3 is Officially in the Works

Hollywood isn't one to let Nick Saban, Bill Belichick, Pete Carroll, & 13th year senior, Casey Thompson, hog the spotlight. So in a power move, it was just announced that Tom Cruise & the entire Top Gun 2 cast have signed on for Top Gun 3. The script is currently being written at Paramount.

Chick-Fil-A Burger

I consider myself a thoughtful and calm individual. However WHY IS CHICK-Fil-A SERVING BEEEF???!!!

Not that there’s anything wrong with beef. Chicken, in general, is an inferior meat compared to beef.

Easy to see Texans advancing to AFC divisional on Saturday

I'm not betting they will, but its really easy to see the Texans beating the Browns on Saturday.

The game's in Houston. DeMeco's D already has an identity as a stingy group. Nico's looking like a playmaker and there are several decent receiving targets in addition. CJ can go win you one in a tight game

These teams just played in Cleveland two weeks ago and the Browns won, but CJ was in concussion protocol. The Browns D is a serious defense and of course could beat the Texans twice in two weeks. But that's a tall order when the Texans are healthy and on a roll. Divisional round is completely within reach.

Blue Blood Coaches leaving their jobs willingly for another college job.

Let's consider that the Blue Bloods are USC, Texas, OU, Nebraska, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Who are the coaches that left a Blue Blood willingly (not fired) and went directly to another college job? (Not skipping to NFL or taking time off for "illness" like Urban.)

Lincoln Riley - OU to USC
Dennis Franchione - Alabama to A&M
Dana Bible - Nebraska to Texas
Brian Kelly - Notre Dame to LSU

Crazy Saban Stat

From our friends at On3. Now the link will show you all 10 but this really stood out to me.

3. This stat has been passed around a bit but it still bears repeating: Before this season, every Alabama player who played under Saban and stayed in the program for four years, won a national championship.

Read that again.

If you committed to the Tide and stayed in the program for four years you were guaranteed a ring. That’s something that absolutely will never be repeated again.

Offseason Data Analysis Suggestion: Roster/Portal Management

@Ketchum the new world of portal and roster management has me thinking what the distribution of a roster actually is. What % of the roster breaks down into each of the following categories:

- Keep happy at all costs (Quinn, Xavier, T'Vondre, etc)
- Future star potential (Anthony Hill, Jontay Cook, etc)
- Good, but willing to bring in competition (Ethan Burke, Terrance Cook, David Gbenda, etc)
- Needs to be upgraded -> Ok to see them portal because it opens the spot for someone else.

I think the good category becomes really interesting regarding portal in possibilities. Jabbar Muhammad is a perfect example. If he comes in, do we lose a potential starter to the portal? And is it a bad thing depending on the roster break down?

I've appreciated your data analysis when it comes to recruiting and rankings. Would love to see something similar to ongoing roster management and its interaction with the portal.

Quick note on Isaiah Bond ...

Most people won't remember this, but he had a pretty strong interest in Texas as a recruit coming out of Buford, GA. In fact, Bond was slated to take a summer official visit to Texas back in 2021, in Sark's first year in Austin, but wound up cancelling a few days after he took his Bama visit.

All this to say that Texas had a bit of a foundation to build on with this one. With Bond reportedly visiting this weekend, it feels like I need do some writing to have a story in the can and ready.
