FRI game has been moved up to 6pm due to weather.
The last time that the Texas Longhorns saw Washington, this was view. Sadness permeated throughout Longhorn nation. While it is two completely different sports and scenarios, the Horns should be able to see the Horns beat Washington this season, though it will not bring anywhere near the amount of joy that a Sugar Bowl win would have created. Regardless, mission remains the same, beat the Huskies.
The Washington series allows the Horns to step out of conference for a weekend as they continue their 10 game home stand. The one hiccup this weekend could be the weather though, as there is a strong possibility of rain on Friday and the last thing this Longhorn bullpen needs is a double header.

Overall, the Huskies have played in a lot of close games with 5 of their 12 games being one-run games. Overall, the Huskies are not giving up many runs a game (4.25 against), but they also are not scoring many runs for (4.41). Interestingly enough, Washington has not played a single mid-week game yet, only weekend three game series.
Preseason, the Huskies were picked to finish 7th out of 11 teams in the Pac12 and were not projected to be a Regional team, as the Huskies will likely take a step back from their 35-20 finish in 2023.
From the 2023 squad, the Huskies lost four of their top home run hitters and two impact weekend arms.
The Huskies did return two all-conference players in AJ Guerrero and Cam Clayton. Unfortunately, both hitters have struggled to start the 2024 season and are hitting 100 points less than where they finished in 2023 and it isn't just batting average. Both players are struggling to get on base and impact the offense with RBIs and other production.
On the pitching front, 95% of the innings pitched have come from just seven pitchers so far this season, so the sooner that the Horns can get into the bullpen will be vital for success.
