Something To Keep an Eye On Around The Globe

Lots of exciting stuff going on in the world of sports right now, so I don’t wanna distract the board too much.

The Taiwanese presidential election is coming up tomorrow, 13 January (12th stateside) and can could have some potential major ramifications in this part of the world.

It’s a tight race right now with current VP with a slight lead over the pro Chinese challenger/Mayor of New Taipei City.

Depending on the results of the election there could be a (probably will be) potential show of force from China in the region.

Here are some articles to get yourself spun up.

3 quick notes on Washington CB Jabbar Muhammad...

Mentioned this in another thread, but it definitely deserves its own place on the board.

1. The Longhorns are interested.

2. He's definitely interested.

3. There's work to be done in recruiting him. There is competition, but the Longhorns have a unique package/opportunity to throw his way... Play with first cousins Malik Muhammad and Billy Walton + play closer to home in front of his family + strong NIL package + play in the SEC

This will move fast, so stay tuned.

Don’t look now but Texas men’s BB now ranked 25th

What’s happened with our once number 5 ranked Men’s BB team, now ranked at the bottom at 25th?

Is RT proving to be what his record told us all he would be before hired?
Was RT the sympathy hire, emotional at the time hire or over hyped coach hire or is that the best Texas could do at the time.
What’s your call in where the men’s team finishes the year out. Coach Vic got the girls number 10.
Is RT going to be Texas weak link and if so how long a leash will he be given before being canned.

I might be most excited about this incoming Freshman:

Christian Clark definitely gives off Bijan vibes but may run with more chip on his shoulder. He and Gibson will both be solid options but there is something about this Clark film that makes me think he might be better than Gibson. If he was an early enrollee I would be thinking this kid would be getting early and often snaps.

The Spec's Weekly football recruiting thread (1/7-1/14)

OB is expecting former Houston defensive tackle Jamaree Caldwell in Austin today for a visit. Caldwell recorded 27 tackles and 6.5 sacks for the Cougars last year.

We're also expecting former Liberty wide receiver CJ Daniels to visit, but we're workign to get more confirmation on that one. Texas has been in touch with Daniels and we expect him to visit, but we're working to confirm that the visit is actually set for today.

Hctra unpaid tolls

Anyone here deal with unpaid ez tag going to collections and attempting to settle. Most things I've seen is everyone feel they are a bunch of criminals and it's ridiculous.

Tolls have backed up for us, and we are going to try and take care of them next week and get them to settle. We've dealt with more Than 3 er trips and 1 overnight stay for Mrs Tristyn09 in the last 2 months alone on top of paying for quite a few medical test worth thousands to finally come close to getting a diagnosis for a disorder that would qualify a 35 year old for disability. On top of a dad being In hospice, tolls haven't been paid or addressed.

Definitely my fault and don't mind paying a good amount, but just wanted to here about any luck you guys may have had.

My neighborhood's cluster mailboxes were broken into

My neighborhood has cluster mailboxes, and when I was driving past them this morning I noticed they were broken in from the backside, and that no one had mail in their slot.

I check my mail maybe once a week or two, so I imagine there's a possibility that there could've been a bill(s) in there, and I'm not sure if my employer has already mailed-out W-2s, or not.

I keep my credit frozen with the three major credit bureaus, are there any additional steps I should be taking to protect myself right now?
