    My latest acquisition

Thanks For the response. As to the price or availability, I roll everything I shoot. 223,22-250, 243, 308, 30-06 and 45-70. I’ve killed 25-30 hogs and half a dozen deer with a 223 over the years and with a 60 grain partition it will kill anything and everything I hunt (no elk or bear). I just...

    My latest acquisition

Question for the group: Does a relatively lightweight 450 Bushmaster exist for say...less than $850? I think I have settled on this thumper for short work, less than 150 yards. I have seen a Bushmaster Carbine with 16” barrel at this price range But my last AR was a bushmaster ( 2 years ago)...

    My latest acquisition

My latest is a Winchester Model 70 Tribute addition to Jack O’Connor I found locally. They were a Super Grade edition in 2012. It was just too cheap. It is in 270. I am more of a 30-06 / 308 guy but it looked so good I could not pass it up. Oh it came with a Leupold VX-6....which is nice. I...

    OT: Fishing x3

One of my favorite breeds. I was in the Military Police in the US Army and our dog handlers were a great bunch of guys and girls. However, the dogs were unbelievable and were invaluable. We had two dogs turned loose in a bar fight while in Korea. That mob of soldiers and visiting Marines from...

    Just my Opinion!

I am coming around to this way of thinking. If you are old and have underlying issues....don’t come out of your cave. The others should at some point come out and get back to it. I think the major difference between now and a month ago is the ability to test. People worried about the Second...

    Coronavirus head count

That makes sense. You have an underlying condition, you catch Covid 19....you are more likely to die. I guess the moral of the story is Don’t Catch It unless you are perfectly healthy.

    Coronavirus head count

Three acquaintances of our family in New York have died in the last week. 53-75 in age. Sad. A close friend of my daughter called and he tested positive. He is young but still nervous. He has lost two friends from it. I spoke with his roommate last night. They have a little different...

    Coronavirus head count

Gotcha. Running total. Thx. I feel much better. From reading the reports, and I try not to do so very often as you can tell, it appears New York is “ground zero” for the USA. I wonder why there vs LA? Is it just because it is so densely populated?

    Coronavirus head count

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Edit For Correction: March 2,2020 = 3,117 total deaths (not in a 24 hour period). April 2, 2020 = 53,167 total deaths (not in a 24 hour period). Not saying it is the apocalypse but it could grow to be a very serious problem. I have tried to keep my...

    Any good non-mainstream movie recs?

I was just curious. Fort Parker and the history there feels like part of my history. I am from Groesbeck and I still have family that lives in Limestone county. My wife and I both do. In fact my Brother in law’s home backs up to the Fort Parker property. It is cool that such a fascinating part...

Agreed but I would still feel terrible to the point it would be very hard to carry it around.

Good question. Here is my take. I would rather go dead broke than give the virus to my 80 year old father who would very likely die due to his less than perfect health. Me getting the virus at 51 gives me zero fear. Me giving it to someone who is not as strong as me and them dying does bother me.

Seasonal “flu” that is not a flu? Great. I don’t think anyone really knows anything. I think both sides are purely speculating. All I do know is: 1) My job has been a craptastic blur in dealing with clients and how the Stock Market has knocked the snot out of their portfolios. But more than...

Call names if you want. Don’t care. You think you are so far on the other side of this from me but the truth is you are really not. My view is, while I may think and you may think this stoppage should not have to take place, the truth of the matter is car wrecks (not a pandemic) hasn’t caused...

    Pretty Interesting Stats

I’ll bow out on this but the answer is simple....because it didn’t. If it had we would have needed to respond differently. Because at the current Coronavirus mortality rates, if the same number of people contracted the Coronavirus as the seasonal flu, 80,000 deaths would only be a drop in the...

Not perfect indeed. As to politics, I do not vote therefore I do not criticize nor praise. I would never protest against the Government nor will I join a support rally. Please don’t take my words as criticizing the President because he has a job I cannot fathom. However, I do have an opinion...

See, that is just the thing. I would rather they shut it all down for a month and get it over with. I do not want us to be the do nothing countries like Italy and Spain. Italy’s death rate is is 10% including ALL CASES and not just the closed ones. Spain is not far behind. Look at South Korea...

127,770 completed cases of Coronavirus. These are all the known cases with an outcome...cured or death. There have been 18,891 deaths. That is a mortality rate of 14.79%. Those are the numbers from Johns Hopkins. 2018-2019 flu season had 35.5 million cases. Total deaths were just over 34,000...
