Those acorns can also be mashed after sufficient, (like two weeks) of soaking. Then they can be ground into a paste and made into cakes. Was a staple for Indians out west. The wife made them once, very labor intensive but its calories most don't know about.

Jeez @clob94, I don't know how old you think I am, but you aren't far off. When I got hired, shortly after "Lone Wolf Gonzales retired, I had a buddy who had already been a cop for 5 years and had his FFL. He tells me I can borrow his S&W 686 for my first year on, since he knew money would be...

    Masters of the Air......

The "Bloody Hundredth" Bomb Group. They weren't just decimated, they were damned near annihilated. It's a fact that the "Mighty 8th Air Force" lost more men during the bombing campaign over Western Europe, than the entire US Marine Corps did in World War II. Like I said, it's good viewing, or...

What type of vehicle or vehicles do you drive?

I had a 1992 Silverado Z71. Man I loved that truck. Then one day, there I was, minding my own business, fat, dumb and happy, tooling down Interstate 80, jamming to some Haggard and Moe Bandy and (((bang!!!))). Alternator exploded under the hood like a grenade. Smoke started pouring out, I pulled...

OT: Barrett Jackson Auctions. Anybody been?

Reminds me of a time working detectives when I had to go to a prominent attorney's office to seize a brand new Corvette and take it into evidence. You better believe me and my partner took our time returning to the station. Seems we had to go cover a few calls, then take our coffee and lunch...

OT: Once Upon a Time in Northern Ireland

Let me just add one thing to what @Drtxhorn said about TV. Another show to have him watch is "Leave it to Beaver". Kids love watching kids, even in black and white and they emulate them. My kids both watched "Leave it to Beaver" and they became very respectful and mannered around adults...
