Geez man, you’ve been on a roll of positivity on anything lately. I mean you even said you heard Farrah was a bad lay. Feeling the lack of sleep catching up to you? Gotta be sleeping through the night now, right?
American soccer is not that bad. Matter of fact, we’re making our way up the ranks. Have the last few years been disappointing, for sure. Missed WC’s.
BUT, we have more players now playing in the Premier League than ever before and getting the much needed experience to bring back to the National team. Have a much needed change of manager.
Those countries you listed are the blue bloods of international soccer. I’d put USA 🇺🇸 right around 15, but headed in the right direction……even though we have been saying that for a couple decades now.

I think MORE kids choose those sports, but not ALL the best athletes.
It is exceptionally hard to play the game of soccer at a high level. The amount of athletic attributes it takes to compete at a top club in Europe far exceeds that of football. Hell, Basketball, Tennis, Hockey and even baseball take a much wider range of attribute than football.
One of our strength coaches in college was from Russia. He told me once that if the United States had the same system that the Soviets had back in the 60s, 70s and 80s- and all the children that were athletes were identified at an early age and sent to special government training facilities-- the US would win Gold, Silver and Bronze in almost every event. He said "the best athletes in the world play in the NFL".
Not saying the best athletes don’t choose NFL. I’m saying the overall athletic attributes you need to play football is pretty minimal in relation to just about every other sport

I remember Carl Lewis being asked once "If there were anyone in any other sport that could have run on that world record 4 x 100 relay team and you still would have set the world record, who would it be?".
Carl Lewis goes "Deion Sanders.... right now".
Could you imagine Deion, Darrell Green, Bo Jackson and Randy Moss training their whole lives to run a relay?

Our best athletes choose football because it is a much easier path.
It why the likes of Deion, Kyler Murray, Tony G, Wes Welker, OBJ, Luck, etc, etc chose football. And probably because they love it too haha.
Not a dog at the athlete. Certainly not a dog at football because I love football, but it’s speed and strength dominate. Other skills matter but at a much lower necessity.
They catch the ball on their chest and foot brother. Running at full speed that’s hard as a mother ****er.
The way some of them can pass a ball within feet is incredible. The accuracy. The spin. The launch angle. Etc. it’s bonkers.
CJ Stroud is an incredible QB. ****er probably can’t throw a baseball 90 feet for crying out loud
Weeve I agree with everything except the last point. Throwing a football is pretty much the same throwing motion as a pitcher throwing a slider. I’d be willing to bet Stroud would be NASTY on the mound.
Obviously people are built for different sports and positions in the same sport and it's hard to tell which sport has the best athletes.
So if we go by the attributes of running, throwing, catching, kicking, jumping, strength, and agility which sport would win in those categories. Is there any that checks all the boxes? I've never seen Bo Jackson or Deion Sanders kick but they have to be high up there.
NFL has the best athletes. I'm not arguing against that. What I'm saying is the overall athletic skill set you need to be an elite football player is not ear as broad as pretty much any other sport.
Soccer, baseball, tennis, hockey, basketball, etc. require a much more broad range of athletic skill. I don't think this is debatable or controversial.
Go look at when Stroud was playing catch before he threw out the first pitch. It wasn't pretty, lol.
Yikes!! I hadn't seen that video until now. I stand corrected.
I had to laugh-- years ago I was watching a celebrity softball tourney. Bo was one of the celebrity coaches. The game was being played in a major league field, but the little fences were put up for the softball outfield.
Bo's team in down 3 in the last inning. They load the bases with 2 outs and Bo calls time out and substitutes himself in as the batter.
Pitcher throws the pitch and Bo knocks it out of the park. Not out of the softball park- he knocks it out of the major league park. Up in the damn stands. This is old man Bo. Not 30 something year old Bo. This is Bo at 50. A softball. Underhand toss.
I was in the park when he homered off Nolan. He had struck out 16 times straight against Nolan and had never even put the bat on the ball. 2nd pitch of the at bat he fouled it straight back. My buddy and I both looked at each other and said he’s got the fastball timed. Next pitch was the loudest contact I’ve heard on a baseball field. When the ball hit the bleachers, I swear it was still on the way up.
It rained its ass off that day and pretty much everybody thought the game would get canceled. Me and my buddy showed up and bought left field general admission tickets at the gate. We ended up sitting right behind the Royals dugout. The st bat before the home run, Bo struck out. He walked back to the dugout with the bat on top of his helmet. He flexed and snapped the bat in half. That cat could have played ANY sport and been amazing at it.
Greatest athlete I've ever had the pleasure to watch. ****ing Bengals man...smh
And then there was the 90+ yard TD run against Seattle (I think). He turned the corner and was gone. The size and speed combination was amazing.
I've seen that highlight. Was that the game he hit the come-backer that popped Nolan in the lip and bloodied him?
I don't think it was the same game. I'm pretty sure I watched the bloody lip game on TV.
