For those arguing that all we need is a new OC and we can turn it around like TCU after their 4-8 season of 2013, consider this: TCU didn't suffer the many blowouts we did this year, such as our blowouts inflicted by TCU, Iowa State, Notre Dame, and probably Baylor, even with their third stringer under center. TCU was competitive in all their games save ironically our game at their house. TCU had a defense for the most part. We do not. We won't have much of one next year either. So how can it be argued that all we need is a new OC?

We are not one year and a new offensive coordinator away from a turn around. We are several years away. No matter if you are in the "Mack Brown burn out left the cupboard empty" camp or the Charlie Strong is the wrong guy" camp, or a combination of the two camp, like me, we have hit rock bottom. It can't get any worse. We are the bad loss team on the college game day signs. We are irrelevant. It's just a matter now of how long do we stay on bottom.

Is Charlie Strong the right guy given the evidence we have? No. Blowouts in year two do not support the notion that he is getting it done. How could they? Had we lost the same number of games this season without a blowout, then a stronger case could be made for his return, but the three or likely four blowouts we have endured this season tell the tale and should be determinative. A great coach would have kept those games close. A great coach would have even won at least one of those - Iowa State. And our program deserves a great coach.
