They want nothing to do with WRTS.

Bomb, I guess I don't see the funny in this... Could you help me? What is it that's funny and thus grants a laughing emoji? Thanks.

"Could you help me?"

Your @AggieFBlife twitter account was known for really starting the #WRTS "movement" (that twitter account is run by an athletic staff member at A&M).

Pretty hilarious that you guys ran with the "WRTS" hashtag until you got beat in most of the recruiting rankings this year. That's what makes it hilarious. A&M is only distancing itself from the hashtag now because it simply isn't true.

Actually it seems as though tamu is trying to keep from using someone else's trademark. And some arbitrary class ranking is hardly the reason why Tamu has distanced itself from #WRTS. Beating Strong head to head for in state recruits speaks for itself. You can grab a few kids from florida, and help your ranking overall. However, I'm not sure what that has to do with this state. Face it, more kids with Texas offers chose A&M, than did not.

Do you ever talk about OU? You know, your "real" rival. Or any of the dwarfs in the big 12? Just wondering.

Actually it seems as though tamu is trying to keep from using someone else's trademark.

Actually it doesn't. They stopped using the trademark after it was no longer relevant. If they were against using someone else's trademark they would have prevented its use months ago (Coris Mack filed for the trademark all the way back in June). This has nothing to do with "using someone else's trademark". This is a PR move by A&M. A&M is continually mocked on online forums, twitter, etc. over the use of the trademark. A&M looked like a bunch of idiots running with such a dumb hashtag, at least they've finally realized this.

"Beating Strong head to head for in state recruits speaks for itself. You can grab a few kids from florida, and help your ranking overall."

You aggys sure get excited over players Mack offered that weren't even recruited by Strong.

.......

What players were those? What about the ones offered by strong?

"What players were those? What about the ones offered by strong?"

I'm not sure which players Strong offered. I know we really didn't recruit Jay Bradford, Larry Pryor, Justin Dunning, Christian Kirk, James Lockhart, Trevor Elbert, and Keaton Sutherland. Strong made a push for guys like Siverand and Keke at the beginning of the year, but didn't really want them at the end of the process. Keke would have flipped if Strong pushed it, he contacted Strong toward the end of the recruiting process (several recruiting guys confirmed this like Wilkerson and Nahlin). Texas had no desire for Siverand at the end of the process because we landed 3 higher rated WRS in Mcneal, Burt and Newsome.

The only recruits Strong really wanted were Mack, Davis, Murray, and Lanfear. You aggys have no understanding of recruiting. Offers don't always = players you want. You have to have backup plans.

I can see why he wouldn't recruit a few of those guys, they were committed to A&M for a VERY long time. He may have come into some really good options, but the fact of the matter is he wanted them enough at some point to give them an offer. That's non-debatable. Just like Wheeler, if he had an A&M offer, it was only good for so long. He is simply too small for his position in the SEC. Sumlin never seriously pursued him, so I can see how it happens.

Don't act like he didnt really want C-Kirk, he just never had a chance with him. Lockhart was arguably the best in the state at his position, and would have been accepted by strong when he committed to A&M in the summer of '14. Sutherland and Dunning were probably just ranked too high for strong, am it right?

Look, if you want to claim that the head to heads are bogus, then don't begin your response with "I'm not sure which players strong offered"... Either back up these stupid claims or don't make them at all, so seeing as how you admitted you don't really know the facts, your claim is baseless. Right? Right.

"I can see why he wouldn't recruit a few of those guys, they were committed to A&M for a VERY long time."

Oh yes, that's why he went after Murray even though he was committed to A&M for a long time. That's also why he went after Locke who was committed to Oregon for a long time. That's also why he went after Quincy Vasser who was committed to Georgia for a long time. Just a dumb argument.

"He may have come into some really good options, but the fact of the matter is he wanted them enough at some point to give them an offer."

You have no understanding of how recruiting works. 1) An offer doesn't translate into actually recruiting players. Strong has offered like 12 QBs in this class alone....he won't recruit 6 or 7 of those guys. You offer guys in case there's a need down the line. 2) "Wants" shift. Just because you want a guy in June doesn't mean you want them in December.

"He is simply too small for his position in the SEC."

Yet he's bigger then 3 of your LB commits, another dumb argument. You aren't very good at this.

"Don't act like he didnt really want C-Kirk, he just never had a chance with him."

Not the mold Strong likes at WR at all. I don't think Strong even contacted him.

"Lockhart was arguably the best in the state at his position, and would have been accepted by strong when he committed to A&M in the summer of '14."

Lockhart himself said one of the reasons he didn't give Texas a look is because he didn't feel heavily recruited by Strong and staff.

"Sutherland and Dunning were probably just ranked too high for strong, am it right?"

Sadly, you think coaches recruit based on recruiting rankings. If that were the case we would have offered players like Connor Dyer.

"Look, if you want to claim that the head to heads are bogus, then don't begin your response with "I'm not sure which players strong offered"...

Head to heads are bogus. Just because you offer someone doesn't mean you actually recruit them. Sorry that's difficult for you to understand aggy.

Either back up these stupid claims or don't make them at all, so seeing as how you admitted you don't really know the facts, your claim is baseless. Right? Right.

Baseless? I've already told you all the players we didn't really recruit, yet you guys act like you won head to head battles.

"Don't act like he didnt really want C-Kirk, he just never had a chance with him."

Not the mold Strong likes at WR at all. I don't think Strong even contacted him.

Hmmm.... Not the mold? So the Composite 5* top 5 WR in the Nation doesnt fit the mold Strong wants? Maybe we have found the problem on the offensive side of the ball. Good players arent what strong wants... That just seems, silly. I'm going to just write this one off as "Bomb again, speaking from his rear". If you could please provide the "mold" stats desired by strong, I might be able to see what you mean. However, when you get one commit that is MUCH smaller and one that is MUCH larger than this kid is, where is the basis for this "mold"?

"Lockhart
was arguably the best in the state at his position, and would have been
accepted by strong when he committed to A&M in the summer of '14."

Lockhart
himself said one of the reasons he didn't give Texas a look is because
he didn't feel heavily recruited by Strong and staff.

I understand he might have said that, but the fact still remains that he put a top 5-6 out the week after he visited UT's campus, and they weren't one of the finalist. Look, Bama was all-in for this kid, so I'll take that as "good enough".

"Sutherland and Dunning were probably just ranked too high for strong, am it right?"

Sadly,

I don't think that at all. I think strong offered these guys, and that was because of their ability. Not because of any "list".

"Look,
if you want to claim that the head to heads are bogus, then don't begin
your response with "I'm not sure which players strong offered"...

Head
to heads are bogus. Just because you offer someone doesn't mean you
actually recruit them. Sorry that's difficult for you to understand
aggy.

I understand that, and agree with it. But if UT or any school ever makes a push for any kid, then they likely wanted them. A few were without a doubt "Pushed" to commit, like you said.

Either back up these stupid claims or don't
make them at all, so seeing as how you admitted you don't really know
the facts, your claim is baseless. Right? Right.

Baseless? I've already told you all the players we didn't really recruit, yet you guys act like you won head to head battles.

I say baseless because you really dont know. You arent sitting at the table when the coaches are talking about recruits. You can claim all the inside info you want, but there really isnt much you can claim as fact, ever.

Look, Bomb... In the end, you guys got a great class. Much better than projected earlier in the year. I understand the H2H thing is very subjective based on needs, current commits, and projected depth, etc. I understand it may be just "water-cooler talking point". But in the end, its still a stat that is used for & against coaches and schools. Mack won H2H vs almost every school for many years, and it wasnt even debateable then. The fact that it is now, is indicative of a change in recruiting trend, is it not?

Oh yes "mold" is defined by whether a player is a 3 star, 4 star or 5 star.
laugh.r191677.gif
Strong likes tall WRs that win the point of attack in the air. McNeal, Johnson, and Burt are all 6-2 or bigger. Kirk is 5-11 at best. Texas only took one small "WR" in Newsome and he won't really be your normal WR. He will be a guy used out of the backfield, on punt returns, kick returns and utilized on jet sweeps in the WR position.

I understand he might have said that, but the fact still remains that he put a top 5-6 out the week after he visited UT's campus, and they weren't one of the finalist. Look, Bama was all-in for this kid, so I'll take that as "good enough".

Bama wasn't all in on Lockhart. They told Lockhart they wanted him at LB or they didn't want him. Good try though aggy. Strong never really pursued Lockhart. Like I said, Lockhart even told recruiting reporters this.

I don't think that at all. I think strong offered these guys, and that was because of their ability. Not because of any "list".

Strong never really pursued Sutherland or Dunning. Maybe in your delusional aggy world you think he wanted both.

I understand that, and agree with it. But if UT or any school ever makes a push for any kid, then they likely wanted them. A few were without a doubt "Pushed" to commit, like you said.

I have no clue what your point is.

I say baseless because you really dont know. You arent sitting at the table when the coaches are talking about recruits. You can claim all the inside info you want, but there really isnt much you can claim as fact, ever.

Ok then
roll.r191677.gif
. So let me get this right. If there really isn't much you can claim as fact then why are you aggys always over here running your mouths about head to head? Jesus you guys are hypocrites. If "we really don't know", why are you guys always running your mouths about head to head. You can't have it both ways. If we can't deny head to head because "there isn't much you can claim as fact", why do you guys get to claim head to head?

But in the end, its still a stat that is used for & against coaches and schools.

Nobody uses head to head, except for sad and pathetic aggys. It's totally meaningless.

The fact that it is now, is indicative of a change in recruiting trend, is it not?

Nobody cares about head to head. It's totally irrelevant. Congrats on winning some head to head battles on guys we never really pursued.

And which commits are those?

Wheeler is an OLB listed at 6'2-225. Let's say 247 is correct in this listing.

A&M commits:

Richard Moore.... 6.05'-210- (6'1 on Rivals)
Claude George..... 6'2-230- (6'2 on Rivals)
Landis Durham.... 6'2-232- (6'3 on Rivals)
Dwaine Thomas... 6'2-218- (6'3 on Rivals)
Riley Garner (ILB)... 6'2.5-220- (6'3 on Rivals)

Is it ok for me to claim that our coaches viewed wheeler as a tweener? This was the all-around word on most every site when Wheeler was talked about in regards to A&M. He simply wasn't a priority, and thats ok. Just like some of the kids you mentioned earlier for strong. It's all OK.

I don't care if you pursued Wheeler or not, your argument that he wasn't "SEC big enough" was laughable though.

I could give two craps about height. If he was 5'10 you might have an argument, but he's 6'2. What I care about is weight, and yes he's bigger weight wise than 3 of your commits. I guess 3 of your commits aren't SEC big enough.

I just dont see how you can sit there and type these words out. Here is some real talk straight from the horses mouth.

"

Lockhart is listed at 6-foot-3 and 260 pounds. He said Saban sees him
as a JACK linebacker, but he could move around to several positions
depending on if he gains or loses weight.

"If I was to get bigger, they could move me to defensive end," Lockhart said. "Coach Kirby Smart and Coach (Billy) Napier, my recruiting coach, said I could play middle linebacker.

"My coach thinks the JACK position is for me but he thinks I could be
a really outstanding middle linebacker as well. What they told me is
that they think I'm a very versatile player and that my weight and my
size is flexible and they could use me where they wanted me to."

Spin? Where did they give him the ultimatum?

How many kids leave High school at their college playing weight? Guess S&C programs don't mean jack...
laugh.r191677.gif

Wheeler and Malik are about the same size (Wheeler is actually a little bit bigger weight wise).

I guess the #1 OLB in the country isn't SEC ready? You are so bad at this.

Exactly why weight is a stupid measurement to go by, but hey, that's you. Coaches and S&C programs can add weight... know what they can't add? You are really bad at this.

All the Bama recruiting guys were saying they were only going to take Lockhart as a LB. Bama had little room for defensive ends last class. They already had Anfernee Jennings, Christian Bell and Mekhi Brown committed at defensive end before Lockhart made a decision. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that they wanted him at LB, there wasn't room for him at defensive end. If you want to find where they discussed this go check out the Bama247 site and find it, I'm certainly not going to backtrack all the way back to last summer.

Wheeler is taller than Richard Moore and the same height as George, Durham and Thomas (according to 247). Your argument is laughably bad. Just give up. If Wheeler isn't "SEC big enough" neither are most of your LB commits. Good job at dissing Moore, George, Durham and Thomas.

So how does this equate to you saying they weren't all-in on him? You started rambling about not wanting him at a position... ok, cool. They STILL WANTED him. They WANTED his commitment. At whatever position you want to say is pointless.... IT was A&M or Bama for the kid, and that's the fact of the matter.

Not big enough has nothing to do with the kid today, its how the coaches project their players down the line... You know this right? A&M's coaches seemed to have felt that very little "Good weight" could be added to Wheelers frame. That's the gist I got from the sites regarding the kid.

They weren't all in on him. I'm not sure what you don't understand. Like I said, if you want to read Bama247 by all means go backtrack to last summer. Lockhart preferred to play defensive end and Bama simply didn't have room at the position.

What? Geez you are so bad at this. Yep, no "good weight" could be added to Wheeler

. The fact that you think Wheeler isn't "SEC big enough" shows how big of an idiot you are. Wheeler is built like a freaking freight train.
