I was able to track down his wife last night. Ketch and I spoke to her for nearly an hour. We didn't get off the phone until 11 p.m. Without getting into too many details, she was totally caught off guard. He did indeed leave the house on Saturday night, alcohol was involved, and he does have an 11-year-old son. He also has two other children through marriage.
I checked in with his wife this morning, and she approved of me sharing a few details with OB. After initially denying he ever posted a suicide note to our message board, he came clean and confessed everything to her. Obviously, an emotional moment for their family. She is determined to make sure he gets help, and was extremely grateful that Ketch and I reached out. She feels like we saved her husband's life by finding her, and prevented their children from going through the pain of losing their father.
We will continue to check in on the family. She apologized for the stress this situation caused anybody on OB. As you can imagine, she is dealing with a ton of emotions. Obviously, I reassured her that it was not her fault, and offered to provide any material she needs (message board posts) to ensure her husband receives immediate help.
Just wanted to make sure I passed that along to everyone.
