Texas A&M: The overwhelming emotion in aggsyland was not relief Saturday after holding off Arkansas, 31-27. It was bewilderment about how the expectations coming into this season got so far out of whack with the actual on-field product, which is still quite mediocre in Jimbo Fisher’s second season. And they aren’t paying him $7.5 million a year for mediocre. Though many will look at Kellen Mond’s ineffectiveness and immediately theorize that Fisher has lost his touch with quarterbacks, but biggest culprit has to be the running game and offensive line play. The aggsys have struggled to run all year against quality opponents, but it was downright shocking to see them average just 2.7 yards per rush on 33 attempts against Arkansas, which has been pretty poor defensively all year. Are teams stacking up the run because they don’t think Mond can beat them throwing, or is Texas A&M’s inability to run putting Mond in an impossible position? Either way, Fisher is getting paid — handsomely — to get that figured out.

What others outside of the aggy group-think mentality can see and they can't see is how vastly overrated, average and overpaid Fisher is. They made a poor decision to take their toys and go home in leaving the Big 12 for the $EC. They've traded Texas and OU for Alabama, L$U, and Auburn in the $EC west. They're not going to win there. Not gonna happen. Yet they think that because they're in a "big boy conference" that that somehow makes them respectable and legit. Fisher will do no better than any of the other aggy coaches before him. 8-4 is their norm. Thing is, everyone gets it but aggy. =)roll

These threads were much more fun before y'all ran off all of the Aggies.
In all fairness, most of them ran themselves off.

Look, I get it. Aggy finally whipped out ther check book and paid for what they thought was a known commodity. It felt good for them to have someone on campus who had actually won a national title. But right now I can assure you, if you turn the clock back and tell them they could have made a run at Urban Meyer if they could have suffered through just one more season of sumlin, and the majority of them would have taken that deal.

Jimbo is who jimbo is. And it's not going to be enough to ge over the SEC hump.

Without getting detailed....I disagree with this.

Regarding Jimbo...he doesn't play OL. That's the biggest liability this season. IMO.

Man, there are aggies out there who are comparing Jimbo at Texas A&M to Dabo at Clemson. Just give it a few years they say. Look at Dabo and Clemson.

I love the positivity and half glass full attitude, but gracious.

To me it doesn't look like the players like him very much. They always look annoyed when he's chewing on them on the sideline after every other play. Not like a "I hate getting yelled at thing" but more of a "dude, leave me the hell alone kind of thing". They don' t seem to be playing very hard and the defense is starting to follow suit. The Alabama game will be big, get blown out and things might really get nasty.

One of the Ag posters on Texags posted after the Arkansas game that “-Rivalry” games like the one the just played against Arky are always unpredictable and you can’t really make decisions based on the outcome. In most Aggies defense, most of the posters discounted the notion/excuse that Arky was considered a rival and attributed the loss On Aggy just not being very good.
