Some random YouTube commentator kept saying that a great rivalry was finally being revived. His evidence that this was a rivalry game was the hatred between the two fan basis. I admit that I hate aggy. I even enjoy an aggy loss more than our rival, ou’s loss. But hatred is not the only criteria for a rivalry. Aggy is not and never was and never will be our rival because it is inferior to us in every possible way. Yes, it is just good enough to play spoiler occasionally. That’s it. Because it still can make the sec championship and play in the playoff, aggy cannot win this week. That’s an unwritten football rule (that I just made up and wrote here).
