Baylor suspended 14 baseball players for 2 games each for a hazing incident. No details have come out except that alcohol and drugs were not involved.

What did they do? It must be short of a sexual assault, or else there would be criminal charges. But evidently more than hot balm in the jock strap, as we've learned on this board that there was no punishment for those shenanigans (at least in the '90's). No chugging or shots, since no alcohol. Any ideas?

How dumb are those kids! Any kid at Baylor has to know that they are being watched for anything that can be scrutinized. If I were a coach there that would be the first thing I tell them upon showing up.

What is it about hazing be it fraternities, sororities, sports, etc...... that make people do the most perverted things. These kids that make people drink to much that it kills them. Their blood alcohol level is like 6x the over the legal limit. Then you have all the Presidents, congressman, senators, Fortune 500 executives and so on that pledged. Whats sad is that they did that stuff and they're not going to do anything to stop it. And it never change 2 or 3 deaths isn't going to make these people change.

You know I think Jon Hamm is an a**hole he didn't just play one on tv. In fact that's all he ever plays you know the charming bad boy with a lot of swag be it tv or movies. Dyk that he went to UT and pledged? Read how he dragged some pledge by the testicles with a hammer claw. I don't see how any of this builds character.

After graduation in 1989 Hamm enrolled in the University of Texas,[13] where he was a member of the Upsilon chapter of Sigma Nu fraternity. There, Hamm was arrested for participating in a violent hazing incident in November 1990. Mark Sanders was beaten with a paddle and a broom by other fraternity members, while Hamm led Sanders around the fraternity house with a hammer claw around Sanders' testicles; Sanders' clothes were also set afire. The incident resulted in the fraternity being shut down on campus. Hamm made a plea deal and completed probation under the terms of a deferred adjudication; the charges were dismissed during August 1995.[14][15][16]

The real hazing stopped after WWII. Pre war, my dad was taking organic chem with a guy he knew from HS (Tyler). His friend was scratching his shirt. After class he showed the UT brand on his left chest. From the Silver Spurs. During the war many 18-21 year olds joined up, came back to school on the GI bill. 1946, some 19 year old junior is trying to explain to the war veteran how he needs to be hazed. "I don't think so Poindexter."

Guys, when i was at UT from 83 - 87 . . . some 18 yr old kid was pledging . . . Cant remember the frat?

He lived off campus in some apts off the drag and MLK. So these frat bozos took him on something called a RIDE.

Basically they kidnapped him from his apt, hand cuffed him to the inside of a van, threw him a full bottle of 151 and told him they weren't gonna let him out until he drank the whole bottle. Then they drove around Austin all night long.

Yup, they killed this kid. Roommate found him the next day stiff as a board. People went to jail over that one i think.

No sarcasm intended here. But it's not idiot gonna idiot. This is manslaughter. I hope they sent those effers to TDC. You know real prison time.

You know most of those frat boys have to come from families with money. You almost have to cause those dues are expensive.

The kids blood alcohol was over .4! And yes, that frat was a biggie frat, very exclusive so probably $$$.

I remember one of the guys who got arrested said it never occurred to them that that amount of alcohol could kill the kid! Good god, the kid was like a buck fourty!

What gets me these days is that kids are shoving vodka into deushe hoses and ramming it up their ass, because they get almost instantly drunk. They are also dipping tampons in vodka and doing the same. Strange times.

Paying those dues? That alone is pretty stupid, at least in my book. But daddy pays through his nose so Pointdexter can shove a vodka-soaked tampon through your what?!

No worse then taking eye shots so it gets to the blood stream quicker and nobody expects anything.

And sadly this happened at the University of Tennessee. Disgusting. And to think those boys will graduate and go onto good paying jobs. But if I were girl dating soneone like that and I found out he did that I'd slap him and have a restraining order put on him .
