If HCDB stays will TT become a hoops school?Tech is not a basketball school I repeat Tech is not a basketball school
I could see them becoming a perennial top 15 team, getting an occasional 5 star guy. Top of the conference and threat to make a deep tourney run every year type of program. If HCDB stays will TT become a hoops school?
It's popavich spurs style D when he actually had defensive players. It's boring--- but effective and I love it.Beard's system does not appeal to "most" 5* guys. It's defense first as opposed to hand it off and jack up a 3 at the worst possible time.

Seems like the uglier the better for that staff. The TT basketball team has held every opponent they have played in the tournament under their season average. It's impressive how well he can get dudes to buy into his system. I could see him turning out a Michigan State style of program. Occasionally you will get the huge target, but the majority of the time you are going to get guys who are undervalued who he can get to stay in his system for several years. It's popavich spurs style D when he actually had defensive players. This. It is similar to Billy Gillespie. We had been so bad that he could get after those kids all he wanted and after a little success the players bought in, but those were not mainly 5* kids. He couldn't do that stuff at Kentucky and it was not pretty. Not that they are the same coach, but I think some similarities are there. I think he could be a legend at Tech however.Beard's system does not appeal to "most" 5* guys. It's defense first as opposed to hand it off and jack up a 3 at the worst possible time.
