Texas is scheduled to start spring football on Tuesday, 3-24. While we don’t know how UT, Herman, Del Conte and ultimately Fenves will handle spring football in the wake of ever-evolving Coronavirus news, here’s how the rest of the conference stacks up as far as spring practices based on current media reports:

Baylor on Wednesday suspended its start back to “at least” 3-23 over COVID-19 concerns

Iowa State starts spring practice on 3-24

Kansas State is scheduled to begin spring ball on 3-18

Oklahoma started on Tuesday, 3-10

Oklahoma State started on Monday, 3-09

Kansas has a 4-18 Spring game but I can not confirm when/if practices have begun

Texas Tech started on 3-03 and now is on schedule to have 4 practices under the belt

WVU started on Tuesday, 3-10

TCU has the most practices under the belt, having started on Friday, 2-28

In the event that spring practices are, for any reason, called off in the coming days, it would appear that Tech and TCU will have gained a small, unplanned edge due to simply getting their spring practices in earlier.
