I love reading about vacation spots and more importantly experiencing new places with my wife and our kids.

In April we will head to Costa Rica for a week. I love Hawaii and have been to Vegas too many times (it’s gotten old to me).

What is your favorite vacation you’ve taken? And one must do activity if someone goes there.

St Kitts or Belize for me. Really can't go wrong in the Caribbean, especially for the price.

Hopefully I will have a new first place after this summer. Hiking with just myself and the wife in RMNP. Staying in Estes Park Colorado.

I love the outdoors and I really love the mountains. However, I have't done either a ton. I'm working on changing that as my kids are getting to the age where they will hopefully love camping and the outdoors. Then I can knock out two birds with one stone as I get into my adventures in the outdoors while starting them at a young age.

Love skiing with my family, so that's hard to beat.

We spent a week in Costa Rica, that's near the top.

Top though was we spent ~3 weeks in Europe. A week in Norway, hiking, eating, sightseeing. A week in a apartment in Paris. A week on a "bike and barge" trip on the canals of Holland.

Look at all you fancy international travelers. I'm a bit of domestic, gypsy, road traveler myself. I've driven everywhere through the Western half of America except for Washington State and only a decent bit on the Eastern side. Doing these trips solo every year is kind of my thing, while I reserve the beach and snow skiing for group trips.

Hands down, the most adventurous and amazing trip I've taken was the off beaten path through the Grand Canyon. I hiked about 40 miles all in all and went down to Havasupai and camped by the blue waterfalls. It wasn't easy to get there, but totally worth it in the end. Here lately it's become a little more publicized and known and I'm not sure how I feel about that, but absolutely do plan on going back someday.

Outside of Havasupai, one of my biggest recommendations is taking the 1 from LA to Washington State. The Californian and Western coastline has some of the most remarkable scenery I would imagine on the entire planet. That was a pretty special trip. Be sure to use your map and plan ahead. What I did was hugged the coastline on every road I could, the entire way up. Staying on just the 101 is way too easy. The bad news though is you'll have to wait until the road gets cleared up in Big Sur. That landslide has taken well over a year to fix and it still isn't done.

My favorites have been trekking in Nepal, Easter Island, safaris in South Africa and Botswana, and Egypt. We just got back from my second visit to Egypt and Jordan - they should be on your bucket list.

Was thinking nepal for my sabbatical. That sounds amazing. Was also thinking egypy on the same trip. Then hitting perth on the way back.

Two best vacations I took by myself. Went snow skiing in Innsbruck, Austria for a week in the spring of 1985. Trip included a one day excursion to Salzburg, Austria where we did a Sound of Music tour and had lunch at an awesome restaurant there and went to Mozart’s birthplace. Also included a one day excursion to Venice which was awesome.
Another trip was to Cancun by myself. Met a really cute lady on the bus trip to tour the Mayan ruins of Chiza Niza. Turned out she was the assistant producer for Remington Steele and Hill Street Blues tv series. We hung out together that day and for the remainder of the trip.

The Grand Canyon stuff sounds really, really cool. Always wanted to hike/camp a few days into the GC.

Would love to do Egypt but so dangerous to go these days. I guess you go at your own risk which could apply to many places around the world.

Singapore, Thailand and Tokyo

Close to mine. Bangkok, Hong Kong/Macau, Tokyo. 4 days in each, I was single and the company paid for my trip to and from Asia in business class on Singapore Airlines. This was my side trip/vacation before heading back to the states.

Hottest women (and men who look like women if you are into that) - Bangkok
Most intense - Tokyo
Place I’d want to live if i moved to Asia and could afford it - Hong Kong (been back twice)

Have three ties for the top spot

Tanzania: 6 day hike/climb of Kilimanjaro and 5 day safari in Sarengeti and Norongoro crater

Australia/New Zealand (South island (Queenstown specifically) is the greatest place on Earth)

Land based trip to the Galapagos
