I know that a few of you guys have mentioned having a tough time remembering about Monday games, so here you go... 8pm Central on ESPN.

And for those of you who cared so much about getting "respect" from the pollsters, there you guys go as well. We're ranked. Whoopty doo!

Definitely excited to watch this one, even if I know the Sooners will be reeeeally tough to beat, particularly in Norman.

REALLY big game tonight...

Sooner fans are always going to show up when a burnt orange team is in the house, regardless of the sport. This year they also happen to be very good at basketball, and the team just suffered a tough loss. They are going to be ultra focused and mad.
With that said, I have been very impressed with how poised Texas has been since the TCU loss. Even in a loss to KU in Lawrence, they lead for quite a while in the game, had a long scoring drought, then still made it interesting in the end. They are confident and play with no fear (pardon the cliche, but its applicable)
I'm not exactly picking Texas to win this one, but don't be surprised if they do. Getting a win out of one of these two road games would be huge for Texas going foward.

Every win the rest of the way is a big win. Our next 4 games are against ranked teams. 6 out of our next 7 (and 6 out of our remaining 8) opponents are ranked. And that includes 4 games against top 10 opponents and 2 games against #3 Oklahoma. Tough closing stretch!

Honestly, I think 2 wins (plus whatever happened in the Big 12 tournament) would be plenty to get into the NCAA tournament, but at this point, with how the season has gone, I'm looking for bigger things than just 2 wins.

... would love to see us do enough to be in the running for a 5 seed (which is where ESPN's Bracketology has us right now). Liking the second round match up with 4-seed Dayton and the fact that we're in a bracket where UNC (who we already beat) is the 1-seed. But there's a ton of basketball left to be played...

I'll definitely be watching. Would be a huge win for Texas tonight if they can pull it off.

Hook'em!

When was the last time one of these white-hot starts against a top-ten team on the road turned out well for us?

One of these days, I hope.

Yeah no way this holds up. They shoot the 3 way too good to be out of any game, and still have too many scoring droughts. Just hope they stay in it and have a chance at the end.

ou has done a decent job of taking the lane away from Taylor

Is it just me or does our team not really go after offensive boards? Seems like as soon as the shot goes up four (or all five if Ibeh is on the bench) of our players start fading back to defend.

ou is either cold as hell or our defense is shutting them down. Maybe a little of both.

Very good half. We all knew OU would make a run. They did, and Texas answered with a strong finish to the half. Poise. Keep it up!

Texas sports fans need to get excited or we will lose Smart. He could amazing things here in Austin.
I think Shaka will get Texas to buy in to basketball the way Bruce pearl did when he was at Tenneese. Shaka turned down what would be considered better basketball jobs before going to Texas though so ovbiously he wants to be here. I'm sure Barnes had other schools call him over the years as well.

OU definitely isn't playing their best, but I think our guys get some of the credit for that. Definitely having nice contributions from several different players when we need someone to step up. Just need to keep it up!

I hope he stays long enough to get the new arena (what ever it ends up being) and that it is something that helps the gameday atmosphere more than the Drum. Not saying there isn't more to it with our fans and basketball... but the Erwin Center reeeeeally isn't great for fan involvement. Until then, we need to fill it up as often as we can and hope the old guys with the good seats uncross their legs and stand up once in a while...

Haven't been able to watch tonight. Has Brent Musburger apologized for being a complete idiot last week about recruiting?
nice halftime score.

Mister, I went to almost every game in the BMW days, and I absolutely love the Erwin Center. I don't get why people don't think it's a good arena.

I do agree about the old guys. I'm in my 40s and don't feel like jumping and yelling anymore, so I don't go to games anymore. The younger crowd needs to take over. It's their turn. If you're older and still feel like you must be at the games, you better get the lead outta your ass.

I still don't think they should do anything about it. The pushing around was that much.

A few things about the Erwin Center: the seating configuration right now is horrible. The longer sides of the court are the $$ seats and the sections behind the hoops are the student sections. I get it... but man, one of the long sides needs to be students. Or... you know, an arena needs to be made in a way where the students get more court-side space... or where there are nice, plush areas for the $$ seats that AREN'T all along the two long sides of the court.

And... it's very dependent on the place being full to feel energy at all. If you're towards the back of the lower ring or if you're in the mezzanine on a night when it's not full up there... your voice just goes out into open space. If you can't hear other people being loud around you or can't hear yourself because it just goes out into space... it's hard to stay loud. So... people in those seats eventually don't.

Man, I agree with you on a lot of sh*t when it comes to our Longhorns, but how in the holy hell can you love that soulless, sound-devouring mausoleum for anything other than pure nostalgia, Metcalf!?

I'm going to drunkenly dance and piss on that place's f***ing grave after they feed it the dynamite it should have eaten 15+ years ago.

All I know is i believe in this team and so do the players. Prince will get drafted now with cam hurt and this team plays way more under control then last season with Barnes.

Gotta love all the classy OU fans cheering things like "Taylor sucks" during our players free throws. Same guys that put the horns down. OU with the ball here and a chance to take the lead.

Lol. Maybe it is nostalgia. All I know is I had a lot of great memories there of a lot of great games. Always had fun there, even when the place wasn't packed. It was always one of my favorite places to go in Austin. I used to even go out of my way just to drive by it. Lol.
