To their credit, they probably are one of the schools that would be closest to warranting an invite to a power 5 conference that isn't in one... but they don't help the Big 12 enough as is. Sorry.

Houston is crazy. I like to make fun of the BIG12, but this is stupid. Why would they take another school in Texas. BIG12 has Texas covered. I never understood taking TCU from a $ perspective. Taking Houston would be beyond stupid. There are not many great geographical options, but why not BYU or Cincy or a Florida directional school. They all make a lot more sense than Houston to me.
If I was a Texas fan, I'd prefer two Florida directional schools over Houston and whoever. Make the BIG12 a solid option in Florida. Houston adds nothing. UCF, USF or Fla Atlantic could open the door for other BIG12 teams, and one might actually become a big time program. Of course adding 2 directional schools from Florida might would not be the wisest from a $ standpoint.
