Quick update here, but I checked with a source close to Casey Thompson and was told Thompson has not yet decided if he'll return to Texas or pursue other options.
Thompson, a freshman who redshirted in 2018, remains in the transfer portal. I've been told he expects to make a final decision this weekend, but as of Friday afternoon things are still up in the air.
With Cameron Rising transferring to Utah and Shane Buechele informing the Texas coaches he plans to transfer, it would seem like the odds of Thompson staying at UT have increased but no decision has been made as of this point.
