I received a series-I savings bond many years back that has finally matured. I've tried three major banks, and due to the amount owed, and me not being an account holder at two of them, they said they aren't able to help, but pointed me to the Treasury Direct government site for direction.
From there, there's a form to get notorized, them you have to mail the bond in along with the form.
There's no clear answer on the website, and I've had difficulty finding anything online: how long will it take Treasury Direct to deposit the funds into my checking account? Has anyone had experience with that?
