Congrats Horn Fans

I’m sure it took a lot to muster up your post. Classy. Good sport. Sorry, but now I’m hoping we don’t see you or BBA around here again for awhile.

I got back in this afternoon. I will come give Texas their props. It was a good weekend even though we lost. I got to hang out with my Aggie son and other family members and ate some good food. I got to mix with some of my long time Longhorn friends.

My thoughts on the game:
I will start by saying that overall Texas was just the better team last night. I thought we got dominated on both sides of the line of scrimmage. I thought we got out coached big time. I went through several feelings during that game:
I thought we came out and moved the ball that first drive and then I wondered why the hell we didn’t take the points in that drive. I thought that was a stupid coaching decision that let some air out of Kyle Field early.
Then we get the 3 and out and right back in Texas territory only to have Reed make a bad decision, but it was a great play on the ball by your corner which is what they have done all year.
Then it was just a slow painful death in the first half. All the things I worried about didn’t happen. I was worried about all the misdirection plays but I felt we played those fairly well. I didn’t anticipate Texas saying, well we are just going to run it down your F-ing throat. I was pissed sitting in the stands wondering why we weren’t running some run blitzes to plug the gaps in the middle. We did a couple of times and forced the bounce out which we played well, but for most of the game Texas just dominated the line and ran very effectively. I thought that was the biggest reason they won.
Then we get a big play on defense with a pick 6 to get the crowd back in it. It still didn’t feel good, but there was life. The defense played well enough to not allow any points in the 2nd half. Then the block punt happened and it should have been a scoop and score but the dude fell down. Still we had it right there. We get to the freaking 6 inch line and decide to run 2 plays right up the freaking middle against the strength of your defense. What pissed me off more is that the coaches took timeout to come up with that sh*t! I watched the play on replay and it was a freaking counter where guards are pulling to open gaps and the tigjt end blocked no one. Scratched my head on that one because as crappy as we played it could have made it a field goal game with 5 minutes. Or, why not take the points to make it a one score game??

There were some calls I thought were big and could have had an impact or maybe they wouldn’t. The change of the targeting I thought was questionable and the illegal substitution I thought were big calls. The illegal substitution was on a 3rd down sack and then resulted in a TD later. From what I saw Texas subbed on offense which should allow the defense to sub. The ref looked at the Texas sideline to see if anyone else was coming on and then moved away from the ball. Im making this statement as an Aggie fan and just looking at some momentum shifts.

However, this game was won by Texas. They had the better team and coaches that outplayed us.

The only win I had over the weekend was that a Longhorn fan got a good old fashion ass whooping. We were at Lane’s chicken after the game and the place was about half full and a Longhorn fan comes in talking a lot of crap. Everyone pretty much tried to ignore it but one dude had enough and asked him to shut up. He said congrats on the win but don’t come in here and do that sh*t. The dude got in his face and said or what? Well he found out what.

Congrats on your win. You deserve to play for the championship and I think your team has a real shot to not only beat Georgia but win the whole damn thing.

I think anyone that’s an ass needs an equal ass beating, regardless of affiliation. Unfortunate though that’s your only option to celebrate and enjoyed watching it while sitting on the sidelines. Pretty sad really.

So you want me to intervene sitting with my sons while a Longhorn fan comes in and talks sh*t at A&M and protect the Longhorn? Many people including myself were trying to tell him to chill out. I told the Ag that it is t worth it, but when the dude got in his face then well, natural consequences take over at that point.

Texas wasn’t the better team last night. Texas IS the better team. Get it right. I told you both that you haven’t played a D like you were gonna face against Texas. I hope you realize I wasn’t talking out of my ass.

I love it when you aggys cry about calls, because only losers make excuses. Your offense got shutout and you only had any semblance of being in the game, because Ewers had 2 stupid turnovers inside your 15 yard line. Don’t delude yourself that it was close, or you ever had any chance of winning.

Enjoy the Duke’s Mayonnaise Bowl, or whatever shit bowl you end up in.

The dude deserved to get his ass kicked. I have seen loud and deliberate guys like that a million times and that kind are clearly looking for a fight.

Not taking 3 early was dumb. Reed tried to make up for it, but you can't just launch and hope against this Texas defense.

If you run blitz, you are susceptible to RPO. QE has a lot of faults, but that isn't one of them. He can read it well and throw from many different arm angles. Run blitzes in spots is okay, but doing it continually would've been a death sentence. Also, when an OL is good at inside zone as well as counter, run blitzes can leave some gaping holes if you fit wrong.

That 4th and 1 play was dumb as hell. But also, they should've taken 3...again there. Make it a one score game. When your offense is getting the shit kicked out of them, take points when you can get them.

That wasn't targeting on Mukuba. It was properly overturned. The side of his helmet glanced the facemask of the receiver. In no world is that targeting under the current rules. You want to see an egregious non targeting call go watch the Georgia safety literally use his crown to spear Haynes King in the facemask on that fumble. GaTech has a legitimate gripe. You guys don't.

Texas A&M took too long to try and sub, and the white hat said time to move on. Texas did not score on the illegal substitution drive. That was the drive QE fumbled.

Refs missed several PI and dead ball penalties on Texas A&M, but you biased knuckleheads are too blind to see the shit in your own house. Always have been.

Texas is a much better team and program historically and currently. Texas A&M will never be a serious program as long as they make everything about being better than Texas. On the broadcast they put the words to your fight song on the TV. The entire damn things is about Texas ffs. You guys care about so much shit that is just irrelevant when it comes to winning. Nobody but aggies give two shits about 95% of the things you guys think other people care about. But alas, your fan base and admin will never learn. You're brainwashed. You think you're the best at everything or should be because you have kool-aid drinking fans and some oil money. You call Texas t.u. and then get pissy when someone disrespects your school. Less focus on Texas, more focus on aggies and maybe you will turn a corner.

All that said, Texas A&M should be better. The facilities are top notch. You have money. You get players. But y'all can't figure it out. Maybe Elko will??? Who knows. I know one thing, with the schedule you have next year and the returning players, Aggies should be 10-2 and make the CFP. Will they **** it up? I put it at 50/50.

It was odd to put the words to the song on TV, they also highlighted the song on Game Day and made a big thing about it. I was thinking to myself that the broadcasters have to be doing that to make fun of A&M right? Anyone who has been around Aggies pretty much know the words and didn't learn anything new, but if you aren't from Texas and this was the first time you heard all that you must be thinking to yourself that it's pathetic to be so hung up on another school. Highlighting that on National TV gave a bunch of people a new perspective on A&M, way to permanently attach the little brother moniker to your brand. They might as well have had "little brother" tattooed on their ass on National TV.

No, I just think it’s sad that your only highlight of the night was watching a couple of guys fight after the game. Great, the dumbass that got decked was a Longhorn. Unfortunately, that won’t help your aggies get to the SEC championship or CFP, again.

That was kinda weird. I couldn't figure out why they were showing the war hymn words during the song.
Was it to embarrass aggy? "Hulla-ballew" and what not?
Did aggy ask for that? If so, why? My buddy from Nebraska texts me and goes "who thought this was a good idea? Is aggy trying to spread their toxic cult through a subliminal message?"

It didn't make any sense to me.

Yeah, it's always just been background noise while the commentators are talking about the upcoming matchup, but this time they stopped everything and showcased it...

My guess, and I think I am right, is simply to amplify the degree of how big the rivalry is and it is being resurrected on their network.

This is exactly what happened. It showed that "texas university" was such an important part of the deal that it was in the fight song.

Could have done Texas Fight to further illustrate.

See this is the issue. There is one line in Texas Fight. One. The entire damn Aggie War Hymn is about Texas. You guys refuse to see it and/or you ignore the implications.

That’s fine by me. Just keep on doing what you’ve been doing for 90 years

So take it out. Change it to Oklahoma your real rival.

These songs were written in a way different era. I don't get my panties in a wad over much of anything, and certainly not that.

No it is what it is but typically during games, everyone changes it to whomever we're playing. It just seems silly talking crap about a&m when we're playing Georgia or Arkansas ect...

What happened to the speakers? Were they not a factor, removed, or what. I was not able to hear the audio where I watched, so I have no idea if they were mentioned or were heard. Anyone know anything?

They messed up because that didn’t have the little bouncing ball going accross the words as they sang.

Correct. These songs were written a hundred years ago when you pointed to the nearest school to you geographically and found some way to slight them, just to build school spirit. But as time progressed, Oklahoma became a regular contender for titles and provided us with more losses that were detrimental to the outcome of our season-- on the national scale.
If you look at it, but for some losses to Oklahoma, Texas would have had a shot at a few more national titles. 2004- the only loss was to Oklahoma. That kept us out of the BCS title game. 2008 it was Tech.....

ESPN did a great job are capturing the atmosphere. I'm 2000 miles away but I was pumped.

My thoughts about the Aggie war hymn. They were soooo fired up before the game singing that song and they still lost. Have you noticed while everyone's fight song is about 60 seconds long theirs is over 2 minutes?

What a game by Quintrevion. I will now make him a legend and refer to him only by his first name.

I don't know if there's anyone on that team that could start for us.

But I will give Elko this. They didn't give up on him the whole season. Can he rebuild.the culture Lord knows they need it. He appears to have a solid top 15 class. They've won 8 games more than last year If they win their bowl game that will make a good first year for him.

We all know what happened at the end of Michigan/Ohio State as well as North Carolina and Florida. Our players were about to do the same thing but Sarkisian put a stop to that.

I hope fans from both schools appreciate that.

Ok fellas the aggies are in the rearview mirror. It's time to think about Georgia.

Their dc Glenn Schuman proved that Sarkisian can be out coached. We have to be better prepared for him this week. But I have confidence in him.

Quinn needs to play better. Not a ton better, just a little better. I love the new Arch package wrinkle in our offense. Our WRs need to catch the ball when Quiin puts it in their hands. Cook is no longer here but Moore needs to do better. Also not sure what the deal was with Bond and his two route mixups. We did pretty good on penalties last week and hope that continues. We just can’t have the rest of the offense mess up on top of Quinn’s mess ups. I know it is Captain Obvious, but that is what if will take for our offense to fire on all cylinders and win out the rest of the way.

I think we found out answer to why Sark was stubborn with keeping Quinn in during the Kentucky game. He wanted the Arch wrinkle to be a surprise for A&M.

One of the universal consistencies is that aggys will never acknowledge when Texas show class or grace, and always ignore when they show a complete lack themselves. I think that’s the 5th law of thermodynamics.

You must not know very many former students. Your statement is pretty much 100% incorrect.

But carry on.

I know PLENTY of former students, and I stand by my statement.

I must have missed where you called out your fellow ags for heckling Florida’s dead batboy during the CWS, or that disgusting sign on the last college game day about Jake Ehlinger. That kind of shit is common with your fan base.

Not one of you on here has said anything nice about Sark, or did I miss that too?

I have to admit I’ve already had several interactions with great Aggie friends and business colleagues. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “man, y’all kicked our ass! We sucked. Good luck the rest of the year!” It’s hard to gloat when humbleness presents itself. Dammit.

You new to the interwebs? People don't give positive reviews, they go to complain. Those of us with positive reviews tell friends and family but don't spend time shouting to the masses on the web. The same goes for kudos to your rival for good bull moves like Sark on Saturday.

I thought that was excellent. I also thought it was pretty telling how the players listened and respected what he asked.

Also, see the original post above. I used the word "proud". It wasn't an accidental throwaway word.

and p.s. ... the batboy thing was trash. Nobody in my orbit would act like that, or condone that. And I have friends and family that attended both universities. Solid people on both sides.

All my aggy buddies have called and expressed their realization of how they got physically dominated in that game. All but 1 said the score wasn't indicative of the actual outcome. All but 2 said they wouldn't stand a chance in a rematch were aggy to make the playoffs.

They were whipped. They know it. There was no reason for me to rub it in.

Same for me. I was on a conference call this morning with a couple of aggy engineers I’ve known for years. They said we could have easily made that game UGLY if we wanted.

All of my good aggy friends are the ones they call 2%ers, who don’t buy into the cult bullshit. The ones I know who do buy into it act just like those idiots on texags.

So, let me clarify, because I misspoke. When I talked of the aggys I know who act like that, I meant to say the cultist “old army” whooping morons. In my experience, aggys either those shit talking troglodytes, or the ones labeled as a 2%ers. The latter are fine, because their entire existence isn’t wrapped around painted overalls and slipping hatred for “t.u.” into every conversation.

Funny confession… My son is currently in his 3rd year at the A&M Vet School. He wanted to go to UT, but TXST has a really good Pre-Vet Med program, so he went there. He doesn’t consider himself an aggy. On Saturday, he wore an A&M vet school shirt, but was rooting for the Horns the entire game. 🤘
