The couch burners look absolutely terrible without Grier.

Up by two tds if he played. I hope his teammates get lots of free swag from him on draft day for leaving them hanging like this.

This orgy is off to a slow start. Couch burners are hanging in there .

Me thinks the game ol Greer played last year against us may have had an impact on his decision not to play the bowl game.... =)roll you know, that dive to the end zone that ended in a nasty broken finger finger. Jones was it? Can’t remember who that was...

Sucks for next year too. They are going to fall back a good bit without Greer. He is very good. They would have beaten Syracuse without a doubt if he played.

I bet they pick up a grad transfer

I didn’t play college ball, so I don’t know what it’s like. But I do know, regardless of position, your teammates helped you get to where you are. And to leave them at the last game of a season, a game that impacts everything from recruiting, to donors, to the team attitude heading into next year... we’ll its inexcusable to me. But like I said, I’ve not been in that position.

Will Grier showed he has no heart and poise in those last two games against the OK schools. And once again he showed he has no heart and poise by not playing in the Orlando Bowl. Some players can afford to skip the bowl game Will Grier can not.

When a kid signs his letter of intent, he gets a full scholarship ride, and that full ride is based on him playing football for a given school. Nowhere in that LOI does it say, "its ok to skip games because you don't want to play in them". This is the ultimate in selfishness. I wish that the NCAA could put something in the scholarship parameters to stop this selfish nonsense.

Also, don't pass out any season awards until after every last game has been played. Pare down the number of bowl games and increase the number of teams in the playoff.

I read on another site a Nostradamos type thought.

He said we are witnessing the death of the Bowl system. With the playoffs now in effect, the bowls have no importance anymore. Nobody cares about the crap bowls and will not attend or watch them and even the top tier bowls are becoming crap bowls as the top stars will begin to skip them more and more which will render them crap bowls as well. Why watch WV play without Grier?...It is sad, but in the end the Bowls did it to themselves with sheer greed.

The playoffs should have at least 8 teams , and maybe 16. Conference Championship games should go the way of the Dodo. Let the various bowls bid on which game they want to host and let College ball become rich off of it. Pay the players for participating...

The alternitive is to just admit that College football will just be a minor league system for the NFL.....which is dieing all by itself.

The only thing I disagree with is the NCAA having anymore power than what they already unnecessarily have.

I'm just not ready for 16 teams.
