I filled in for Ketch doing 10TFTW on Monday and was overwhelmed by the number of "Buy or Sell" questions submitted. Since I was unable to get to very many of them in the column, I made a note to go back and pick the ones I was unable to answer. I'll address those here in the Short.
Texas plays Maryland and Tulsa in the first two contests and as weird as it may sound, Tulsa is the game I worry more about. Maryland still has nothing at QB and lost its entire offense in D.J. Moore who was the first receiver selected in the 2018 NFL draft. Tulsa lost 10 games in 2017, but was decimated by injuries. We know that Phil Montgomery is no slouch of an offensive mind and he has at least one 10-win skin on the wall from 2016. He'll presumably have both his QBs back as well as basically an entire secondary that missed time last year. A healthy football respect for Art Briles disciples is probably a wise thing to have in the Big 12. With all this said, Texas should head into the USC game 2-0.
USC, without former QB Sam Darnold, will almost surely head into Austin as a 1-1 team as they will beat UNLV and lose to Stanford. If, somehow, USC were able to come into the game undefeated, it would be the prime time game of the night on FOX and your tickets would be worth much more that day than they are now.
Generally, though, at Texas (outside of the biggest games), I've always been successful in buying tickets cheaply as close to game time as possible. Unless we are talking an Ohio State night game during the VY era or something similar, I can't recall a big-ticket-type of night wherever prices were so inflated that selling them earlier would have been a huge mistake. With End Zone seats selling for almost $160 at this time, the upside that Texas comes into that game undefeated is already baked in. I'd sell them now and take the guaranteed profits.
SELL.
The best-case scenario for fans is that Ehlinger shows great improvement this season and then starts for at least two more years, right? It wouldn't be out of the question and it would mean that Texas was getting above-average QB play. Ehlinger is capable of this if he can just eliminate the late-game mistakes which seem more a function of circumstance than a hallmark of his game.
BUY.
When Tom Herman fails to name a starting quarterback; and when he says that he's pleased with how the offense looks under Tim Beck (despite the possibility that reports from practice could say otherwise from the media); and when he says that the defense is having to be "dumbed down" still to let the young offense get its feet underneath it, etc ...
Yes, some people are going to melt down.

It's a fine meal -- one of the best, no doubt if you throw in an avocado -- but the best meal is (by definition) a Pittsburgh-rare NY strip steak with loaded mashed potatoes and a bleu cheese lettuce wedge salad.
SELL.
It's going to take one hell of a season in 2018, right? I don't pretend to know much about basketball, but I know that guy can't win in the tournament and has embarrassing losses with elite future-NBA players like Mo Bamba in tow. I know it's one thing to get them here, but it's another thing entirely to win with them.
SELL.
What team have you been following for the last year? This coaching staff almost seems to have a physical aversion to leaving players in through games for the sake of continuity and allowing them to get in the flow of the game. Look at the cockamamie RB and WR rotations. I wouldn't even be surprised if we get the old "we're going to have to play both guys" line coming into game-week with a starter not announced publicly until the team takes the field. Not only is it likely we see both QBs versus Maryland, at this time, it should be thought of as the most likely outcome.
SELL.

B/S — I should wait until the week of USC to post my tickets on stub hub to maximize my profits?

One of the QBs we have on the roster or committed will start 3+ years.

B/S the doomsday nay Sayers will be bitching prior to the end of the first week of fall camp.

B/S: Each of the Mods will agree that Anwar is the best looking among them - with one of them admitting to having fantasies.

B/S. Bacon and eggs are the best meal any time of day. With hash browns of course.

B/S: Shaka Smart gets a contract renewal at Texas?

Texas plays at Maryland and even if the game turns south, they stick to one qb because no matter what, Herman & Beck do not want to have a repeat of last year's QB attack.
*Exception: The starter is forced to sit out one play because his helmet comes off or he is injured for one play or longer.
