Remind me. Since Earl Thomas, has Texas had a safety who was even in the same conversation?

Texas' D needs erasers. We need safeties and LBs who will erase mistakes, missed assignments and tackles. I mean, as much as the D cuts down on the missed tackles and mistakes, they're still going to occur. Alabama misses tackles. And when they do happen, you need some superstars to fix things.

No, but Earl was one of our best DBs ever so it's not exactly an easy conversation to get into. Even if we were killing it since 09, we probably wouldn't have produced another Earl Thomas. Kenny Vaccaro was our last good safety and even being a first rounder he wasn't in the same conversation as Earl.
