Dear aggies

I tell you what.... I am willing to let Old School Cat to review that play and make a ruling. I think he is from the days when the Corps had honor. I understand if he elects to stay out of this.

I cannot be more fair than that.

I am old, but never was in the Corps. Gen X by the grace of God, 90's A&M grad.

That said, what I recall from the targeting rule was "forcible contact in the head or neck area OR contact leading with the crown of the helmet". I could be wrong, but who the fk knows anymore. I think the whole rule is stupid, and should NEVER be a DQ. Or at least give them a 2 and out. First offense DQ is garbage.

The Notre Dame play IMO was targeting. Regardless of what he was hit WITH, his head and neck was destroyed.

The A&M / Texas play while by the rule "contact" was made in the head and neck region, it was incidental at worst. I would not have thrown the flag. I am 100% not surprised it was called. And Justin Tucker has a deal with the devil that continues to this day.

OSC..

Just. Because I don't agree with your answer does not mean I will not abide by it.

That's what internet message boards are for. Disagreeing politely, and not so politely.

Disagreement on "targeting" is perfectly normal, as it is a stupid arbitrary rule that needs to go away. At least in its current format.

I have to admit…. I didn’t even remember this call from the last game we played. I just watched a recap video, and it occurred on a 1st down play. A. FIRST. DOWN. PLAY.

It wasn’t a 4th down play, a last chance to score kind of play, or even a drive extending play. It was a 1st down play at the BEGINNING of the last drive. Not the end… the beginning… The same drive where aggy D let Case McCoy break off a 30 yard run on them. Are you fvcking kidding me? That’s what you’re crying about? I guess if my D did that, I’d try to deflect on to a penalty too…

You should be embarrassed. What a fvcking joke.

Finally, the best response. It’s obvious the aggs on here are just tooling all of us. It’s all they got.

There was only 1:15 to go and you had the ball on your own 24. You had a hill to climb to get into field goal range, and it certainly helped.

Inability to tackle an immobile QB is what set up the field goal though.

That is such a weak response. All it did was give Texas a first down, because it was 1st & 15 on that play, any difference it made was negligible. We don’t know that Texas wouldn’t have taken a shot downfield on 2nd & 15 the next play and scored a TD. After Case ran all over your D, Texas was on your 25 with 2 TOs and 35 seconds left. Texas went 51 yards in 40 seconds, so it wasn’t like you weren’t getting the ball moved on you at will. There was still plenty of time for Texas to move the ball and even run down the clock to kick the FG, so that call is irrelevant. You’re crying about weak sauce.

Just admit that you lost fairly, and that call had nothing to do with (a) your offense not getting it done the series prior, and (b) your defense not getting it done that last series.

Nobody said that was why A&M lost. I said it wasn't targeting. Calm down sunshine.

Don’t get too excited. Those aren’t cheer leaders. That’s aggie’s Cheer Squad club. It’s an all-girls team established in 2001 to represent them at state and national competitions.
I’m talking about the video of the milkmen driving to the KSU game.
