Five-star running back Trey Sanders doesn't say much about his recruitment, but he did talk to Rivals.com this week for an update. A few key points of interest ...
--- Sanders plans to graduate early and said he'd actually like to have his decision made in late November or early December.
--- He took his Texas official visit for the weekend of the USC game and by all accounts, the Longhorns made a strong impression.
--- One of the big draws with Texas is running backs coach Stan Drayton.
"Texas is a program that has really turned it around this year," Sanders said. "I mean big-time. They have one of the best running backs coach (Stan Drayton) I've ever met. I sat down with him for 20 minutes, and he taught me how to change my game. I put that in my game this year, and it helped a lot. I know he can help turn me into an NFL back."
--- Sanders will take an official visit to Alabama for the Iron Bowl in late November. The only other official visit he knows he'll take will be to LSU. He's unsure if he'll take a Florida official visit, but will be there next week on an unofficial visit with his family to see his brother, who is a walk-on there. He was hoping to be in Baton Rouge this weekend for Bama-LSU but won't be able to make that trip.
--- Sanders says he's genuinely still torn and does not have a true leader as he heads down the home stretch.
"The decision is going to be hard because I have met so many great people," Sanders said. "I don't have a favorite. It's close. It's hard to say who is recruiting me the hardest. I wake up every morning to the whole coaching staff from every school texting."
Big thanks to Andrew Bone for catching up with Sanders.
