I'm reading "the age of fighting sale" by CS Forrestor - the Hornblower author. It's about the war of 1812 (nonfiction)

If you don't know your history we gave the British a massive beatdown at sea.

However I'm thinking more about the names of our ships and how proud we were back then - compare it to now. Three 44 gun Frigates:

USS Consititution - regularly trampled today by the executive branch and not protected by the Congress. It used to be our greatest accomplishment now it's just something to be ignored or gotten around wiht executive orders and a giant bureaucracy

USS President: The previous one - shit. The current one - more shit. The next one, dangerous buffoon or corrupt felon. We have fallen so far

USS United States - I still have pride but now I also have shame. How could we let this happen?

USS Congress - abrogated their responsibility long ago and allowed the executive branch to take their powers with "agencies". Hated by all, incredibly low approval, most Congressmen are Congressmen to just be... Congressmen.

I served as a military officer and was a true believer. Now I don't trust the government, and think it's a force for if not evil, well not good.

I still love the USA but the Federal Government is a horrible joke
