Finally, the 2021 LSR Top 100 list is updated.

It's taken so long because I've been a combination of lazy, busy, unable to sit down and just get it done... but it's updated. I have to say the first list was really damn good. It held up well.

Anyways, let's get into some thoughts.

* What a deep freaking class. I had 147 players I wanted to squeeze into the top 100 and just couldn't do it. It's got talent and depth at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, offensive line and pass rushers. It's about as complete of a year as I can remember the state having.

I broke the state down like this:

6 stars: 1
5.5 stars: 2
5.0 stars: 3-5
High 4 stars: 6-10
Mid four stars: 11-32
Low four stars: 33-54
High three stars: 55-100

* Tommy Brockermeyer is my only six star, but Camar Wheaton is probably 5.5 stars. Both are the best prospects we've seen at their positions in the Lone Star State in a decade.

* Texas has commitments from 3 of the top 7 and 4 of the top 18, but only 4 of the Top 30 overall.

* Six of the state's top 10 are uncommitted. Texas is the only school with more than 1 Top 10 commitment.

* Texas A&M has the No.13 commitment and two of the top 50.

* The state is loaded with outstanding quarterback prospects, but Jalen Milroe is something else. He reminds me of Ell Roberson in his yearning to make a throw over turning it loose with his legs, but when he does turn it loose, the full power of the Death Star reveals itself. Best combination of arm skills, physical make-up and flat out playmaking of any quarterback in the state, but there are four quarterbacks this year I really, really like and about 6 more that I really like.

* I don't completely understand what happened with Savion Byrd last year, but he stays in the top 10 for me based on his offensive film from a year ago, even if he played defense most of last season. Guys with his athletic skill set don't grow on trees.

* James Brockermeyer moved up into the top 15 and in a normal recruiting year, you could make a case he's the best line prospect in the state. Can play every position on the line and really proved himself as elite out of his brother's shadow last year.

* Camar Wheaton is on a different level than other running backs in this class. Don't pretend otherwise.

* Most underrated player in the state? My money goes on Wichita Falls Hirschi defensive end Chris Murray, and yes, he is committed to TCU because Gary Patterson is the best evaluator of talent this state may have ever seen. Texas needs to get on this kid... yesterday.

* Preston Stone is at No.24 and I kind of feel guilty about it, but the other kids ahead of him have more physical upside, even if his basement isn't as low.

* The new Baylor staff knows what it is doing from an evaluation standpoint. Keep an eye on those guys.

Anyways, feel free to ask questions, make comments or shank me with a wooden knife. I'm here for you.
