He was ISU’s coach before jumping to the NBA. This would be a dream hire, but the timing isn’t going to work. Shaka’s not getting fired this year.

You don't remember Fred "The Mayor" Hoiberg? He was Iowa State 's version of Steve Alford in the early 90's. He was very good on the college level. He was your stereotypical little slow Iowa farm boy, but he was smart and could really shoot. No idea if can can coach, but he could really shoot in his day.

I don't watch college basketball, lol. The tournament? Meh. Sort of watch it, but its hard to relate to any of the players with the one and done stuff. At least in football and baseball, the players are there for three years, so you can have time to watch and get a feel for the players, unlike CBB. The regular season in CBB and the NBA is unwatchable.

He coached for five seasons at ISU before leaving for the Bulls, and he was outstanding.
