To be honest. I think we will win. Look for Orlando to put in 4 DL. 4-2-5.
Orlando defense has been the worst problem for our young DB's.
What will probably happen is that the OLB (buck or whatever they call it) will play closer to the LOS. It won’t be a traditional 2 DT/2DE.
So the 2ndary is struggling in a scenario where there are 5 secondary players and 3 LBS and your answer to fix is to take off a LB and add a DL? Thus leaving the 2ndary in even more 1v1 situations...
I think Texas can win. I’m not sure what happened to OU yesterday but it seemed that KState had the perfect scheme to confuse OU plus the OU defense may have been reading their press clippings lately.
What happened to OU yesterday is the country finally got to see that they are not a top 5 team. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them take another loss in conference before it’s all said and done.
We need to get pressure on the QB. I don’t care if it requires a 5 man front. It is obvious that our secondary needs help. Without folks miraculously getting healthy, QB pressure is the best help we can give our secondary.
They may not be too 5 but they’re crrtainly capable of playing much better defensively than what they did yesterday. KSU has struggled this year but looked like world beaters against our defense.
KSU came very close to KSU’ing the game away at the end. The OU defense got their act together in the last quarter but too little too late. I think the coaches players underestimated them
With ND and 0U losing yesterday, let's all hope and pray that two $EC teams don't make the CFP.

Except in years like this where an down (from last year) OU, or a Baylor get in from the Big 12, or an Oregon or really down USC from the PAC12. LSU and Alabama are 2 of the best 4 teams in the country right now. I would put them two, Ohio State, and then let Clemson/Georgia (lean to Clemson now due to the S. Carolina loss for Georgia) fight for #4. We have got to be able to recruit linebackers so that guys like Ossai can actually do what they are best suited for and that is to play on the edge and create havoc in the backfield. We just don't have the Jimmy's or Joe's to let that happen right now.
With the spread, you have to run a 5 DB set, period. We are not putting any pressure on the QB at all, none with 3 line men. We need to get pressure up the middle with 2 DT's and box the Qb in with our DE's, allowing our 2 LB's and/or Safety to scout or blitz the QB. We just have to see what Orlando roll out for this game. Hopefully we will see an improvement or Herman we have to go. No excuses
Herman doesn’t coach the defense though so I think it’s more like Orlando needs to go.
