I want to be clear I want Meyer above anyone else but I think Herman Edwards would absolutely kill it here. Has the persona to handle the media and relationships, it’s been widely reported that kids and parents rave about him from the under armor games, knows how to handle crisis (was the ny jets coach during 9/11). Everyone loves him from everywhere he’s been. The biggest thing tho is he has the awareness enough to build a great staff and supplement his shortcomings. Obvious concerns are he’s old, never won big, and some uncertainty about adjusting to big 12 play- all valid. He actually reminds me of a Pete Carroll, old in age but young in spirit. He has Arizona state trending way up, producing NFL talent and over achieving. Plus If you’ve ever heard his speech to the rookies at the nfl symposium or heard him give speeches to teams across the country you can tell he’s a genuine leader of young men. I totally get the mindset of Urban or bust, but he’s great backup option imo.
