Went back and looked at Bijan Robinson's stats from High School. Check out these stats and look at what stands out, his carries per game. I looked at Jonathan Gray's stats and he averaged 350 carries per year in HS and had one season where he broke 376 carries.
Bijan Robinson HS Stats
----------------------------------
2016 - 42 Carries, 378 yards, 9.0 avg., 4 TD's (Games = 9)
2017 - 189 Carries, 2023 yards, 10.7 avg., 26 TD's (Games = 13)
2018 - 170 Carries, 2400 yards, 14.1 avg., 35' TD's (Games = 13)
2019 - 126 Carries, 2035 yards, 17.7 avg. , 38 TD's (Games = 11)
If you look at games and carries, Bijan averaged 11 carries a game in HS and never broke 200 carries in HS in a given year. Maybe just maybe the staff is aware of this kids workload history and wants to manage it very closely. The best comparison to what I think we have in Bijan is Reggie Bush. Remember though, Reggie Bush had Lendale White in the backfield with him and we do not have that in Roschon Johnson who is a converted QB. The LJ Johnson recruitment is important for that reason alone. We simply need a back that carry a bigger workload and move the chains.
This data also proves to me that I may have been a bit premature on judging the staff and their management of the kid. He needs an offseason of conditioning to develop. I would like to see him around 15 carries a game. I would not be opposed to getting a Grad Transfer due to the unknown of relying on freshmen. RB's.
