I think there have been schools that have offered him very lucrative deals. I think he’s being smart about where he goes and is just developing as a HC. You can move too soon as Tom Herman is finding out.

No he’s not. He’s been a head coach for 10 years. And Iowa State is a program where 8-9 wins is probably their celling on any given season. Some programs just have a celling for what they realistically can be.

we gotta stop treating every coach from a smaller school as “Tom Herman 2.0. Plenty of coaches came from smaller schools and had success. They just didn’t have 1-2 years there they had 5-6

urban had 2 year at Bowlling Green and 3 at Utah(mountain west version) before going to FL
Brian Kelly coached at Grand Valley State, Central Michigan and Cincinnati. Mack Brown came to Texas with a ton of expierence. That is the most important factor in a head coaches success. The rest is just window dressing and nonsense
