Jason Whitten un-retires and come back to Cowboys

I understand he is wildly popular. But ---- he bailed on the team last year so he could take the TV job, then when he fails at that comes back to the team. If this was Dez (or anyone e;se but Witten) ---- we would be talking about how selfish he is. I wonder what Swaim thought when he heard the news. And if I'm Rico Gathers ---- don't extend the apartment lease!

Witten is one of my all-time favorite Cowboys players, but it was time. He has no speed, runs straight up and goes down easily. I love the guy, but he should stay retired, IMO.
Are you kidding me the guy had a great year in 2017 and is still in shape. He is a Tony Gonzales type guy. I would not be surprised if he catches 50+ balls this year. He will help the Cowboys on 3rd down and in the red zone. The two main areas the offense hurt in last year.

I think it's great! He was being pressed hard to come back last season and help with the playoff run. Witten said he didn't feel like he deserved to take snaps away from guys who were fighting with the team all camp and all season. He's not being selfish, he's probably the complete opposite of that if anything. A year off was probably good for his body. And now Dak has a third down option. If you remember last year we didn't have a third down option, so we ran or threw it to Zeke almost every third down. Witten will give Zeke a couple plays off on third down and those snaps will add up and take some mileage off Zeke. At 1 year 5 mil its a little pricey but I'm sure they would've paid him anything he wanted.

Great year? Great is not being force fed the ball for 3 yards and a fall. He is slow as all get out, and his yards after catch are 0. He is no Tony Gonzalez. At this point, he is simply taking up money. If he has 50 catches, it'll be for 250 yards or less. He is setting them back, in more ways than one.
