Barnes is awesome!

Seriously, no one is posting any support for Coach Barnes, other than to say that he's a decent guy who served the Longhorns faithfully, but that he has to go. Steve Patterson has to realize that it's time for Barnes to go. Thank you, Penders. Thank you, Barnes. Now support us from a booth somewhere.

Barnes has done some good things. He has recruited some great players, taught solid defense, and helped us to regularly get into the tournament, but that's about it. A year ago, after all the defections, we were all sure the Horns would collapse, and they didn't. That was impressive. But it was followed up by this inexplicable season.

We need someone who can help fill the stands (wherever they may be), and take Texas to the next level. We must expect to be in the Sweet 16, and often in the Elite 8 on up.

Texas men can be a powerhouse in multiple sports, and not just football. Shouldn't Texas dominate in burnt orange ball?

Awesome Rick started coaching at George Mason in 1987....then made a stop at "basketball school " Providence, never finished higher than fourth in the conference. In six seasons had ONE winning conference record. That year he was bounced in the first round of the dance.

His next stop of futility, Clemson. In four years only once did FRR have a winning conference record...nver finished higher than fourth in the conference. Twice FRR was knocked from the dance in the first round.

Texas' Deloss loves what he sees and gives Awesome Rick ....a shot. In his time at Texas, 17 seasons, First round Rick has managed ONE outright conference championship. ONE final four, never a championship game.



Those turney apperances?..FRR has managed to keep The University of Texas in the top 50 % of all the teams in the nation. Wow. Great job.

Of those 16 apperances, Ol' Rick has been dismissed in the first two rounds 9 times.

For this stellar job, The University of Texas pays FRR $2.5 mil. THAT is awesome.
