Pre game the atmosphere is almost untouchable. I think 500k were tailgating and the bars across the street were awesome. It was more Anti Michigan than anything pre game (I still have my "Ann Arbor is a Whore" Tshirt).

During the game the older people around us (we were sitting where Limas caught the ball) were awesome, even congratulating us and telling us "We'll get you next year in Austin". Some even yelled at younger fans when we would cheer and they would scream at us.

After the game, they said be careful walking back to your car. On the way back (had to walk through Frat row to get to car), we stopped by the set of gameday and met Herbstreit. Even he told us to be careful.

1,000,000 Words, bottles (non landed), and threats later, we made it to car.

Scary and if I ever go back, Ill bring neutral clothes to put on after.

    So:
    10/10 pre game
6/10 during game thanks to older crowd
    -1,000,000/10 post game

Born on the fourth of July was his best performance ever and I can't believe you have Maverick at 1. He was amazing and should have won the Oscar. Did you even see the film?

Many of you need to prepare yourself....Urban Meyer is not going to lose his job.

Over the last couple of years something has been proven. If you just wait out the outrage for a couple of weeks people will move on.

tOSU knows someone else will grab Urban really fast anyway so why now just hang on to him.

I don't think Tom Cruise is underrated - he is a huge star who, in spite of some personal wierdness with the Oprah/Katie Holmes/Scientology things remains one of the biggest box-office draws ever. People don't put him in the "great actor" conversation very often (as you pointed out, he's no Daniel Day Lewis) which I think has more to do with the choices he made for roles, given the performances he gave in Born on the 4th, Jerry McGuire, A Few Good Men, and Rainman. You also left All the Right Moves off the list. Point is, I never hear anyone slagging Tom Cruise - he is universally respected as a "Big Star", so I don't think "underrated" fits.
The most underrated actor in Hollywood by a mile is Keanu Reeves. Like Cruise, no one will accuse him of being Daniel Day. Unlike Cruise, people seem to love to talk shit about what a crap actor he is all the time, and yet he does nothing but make great, entertaining movies that earn jillions of dollars and I argue would be difficult to replace him in. I am not saying he is a great actor, I am saying he is far more underrated than Tom Cruise.

It's important to re-tell a story of TEXAS's 1st practice/walk-through in Columbus. The osu band members and other people were hurling insults at the TEXAS team. Mack walked into the osu band and spoke with them about how honored the Longhorns were to play there and that he appreciated their spirit. The osu folks were dumbfounded; they can't comprehend TEXAS folks

Did you actually watch Chris warren play? I wouldn’t say he tore it up. He had one long run against air and a few decent runs through huge holes against 3rd stringers. He might make the practice squad but I saw nothing to get excited about. Any 3rd string rb could have made those plays. Literally. Richard is much better than him.

    - Crazy that "who" told the information matters more to Ohio State fans/media members more what occurred and the cover-up.

    - Maryland is a basketball school. Doubt they think twice about firing a football coach.

    - If Shane is tied with Sam at the end of training camp, Sam starts IMO

    - If Chris Warren III makes an NFL roster but couldn't crack a Texas lineup, it's a bad look.

    - Love the baseball kid

I can't speak for the experience in Columbus, but in terms of overall hostile fans, we'd have to put Tech up there, right?

The worst was when I was there in '08 (Gideon drop/Crabtree catch). They WON the damn game and my group had a miserable time getting through the parking lot. Lot of different drunk Tech fans getting in our faces, shouting, some shoving, and just all around jackassery.

I would maybe attribute at least part of that to it being a high profile night game (lot of day drinking), but it hasn't been super pleasant for Longhorns in my other trips there.

To the poster above, I’ve never done Tech for some reason. Seems like I’ve kind of missed something that a UT fan should hit, just for the hell of it.

I think we show up against USC, they lost a lot more than we did in the offseason and we damn near had their number at their place last year. With the above having been said, I'm starting to see Week 2 against Tulsa as the trap game of those 3.
It's becoming increasingly clear to me that CW3 was primarily focused on avoiding injuries last year. I have never seen a big guy run so tentatively - even Henry Melton is shaking his head somewhere.

He rushed 13 times for 86 yards as an undrafted rookie. I covered Gruden for years in Tampa. When Gruden says he likes somebody, he borderline loves him.

That is an OSU scandal itself. Can there be much question how outspoken OSU "fans" are reacting with profligate, wild finger-pointing and defamation, desperately attempting to divert attention from the rot at the core of the OSU football program? Football is enormous distraction, even obsession; but it is not a license to abandon any sense of decency or basic humanity.

I think how often I have been certain to be cordial to visiting fans at UT games and seen many others do likewise. What a shameful, scathing indictment of a school; with that environment, no wonder the hysterical, counter attacking defense of Meyer has been so intense and vitriolic. OSU would do well to shut it down and try again in ten years [fat chance].

That place has reached sick proportions. No wonder Meyer has been allowed to metastasize from what he had already demonstrated himself to be at Florida.

Hayes needed to retire and did something just crazy. With Tressel, there was a danger of NCAA sanctions they wanted to avoid. The Meyer scandal is a case of gross win at all costs cover-up of personal issues within the staff, indicative of ethical rot internally; but not sanctionable. So this is a test of the administration's character to see if they have backbone and minimal ethical standards they will enforce. I still fear that with such high stakes for the winning football program, ethics will lose...again. Otherwise, with the threat of a huge suit for wrongful termination, the school will buy out Meyer at a fearsome cost, and he will ride off to another site to continue the act he showed at Florida and now OSU. Sadly, there are other schools that likely would take on his toxic quality in order to win.
