Youth showed up tonight. Boys are going to take a thumping. Hopefully they learn from it. Being ready for conference play and march is all your looking for right now.
Oh yeah. Shaka is one of the best development coaches there is. And in basketball you can afford to teach and improve. Football you throw up one clunker and it's probably over.
There already has been development. Mack and Roach are 100 times better players than they were at any point last year. I wish Taylor had not gotten bad advice and stayed.
Agree. The fact remains we have a substantial amount of development. IMHO, a significant portion of this development will come by experience. Experience like last night was painful to watch, yet at various moments provided flashes of promise.
I'm wondering about the defensive scheme that continually has Texas bigs switching to match up with opponent guards on the perimeter. Not only are the opponent guards easily driving the lane, the opposing team is ripping UT on offensive rebounds. That was a really poor defensive performance.
They'll get things figured out. I think Roach has the ability to plY the PG spot. Just needs more time doing it. Horns played 2 well coached veteran teams. It looked like they started to get it figured out the 2nd half today. Would like to see Roach drive to the hole more. That will open things up. As well as knocking down some 3's
