Mens BB vs #6 WVU

W Va's defense caused some turnovers, but, Texas looks to have settled down.

Bob Huggins looks like he ate Mark Mangino for lunch.

Too bad he isn't back at Kansas St still, in their purple he'd look like a pregnant version of Barney.

Taylor doing a great job of penetrating that aggressive defense and finding the open man. Great shot be Felix

We have been nails at home this year. 9-0 and beaten some quality teams. We have struggled on the road and neutral sites.

Nice win here at WVU. The W to our total and the road win are key to getting us locked in the NCAA tourney.

Man props to the guys. This gas been an absolute sluggfest feels like the team has gained their footing again and now look to be a solid tournament team.

Taylor is what makes this O go.

They are finding out how to play without Cam Ridley.

Felix has been pretty good role player this year and pretty clutch a few times. He scored a 9 straight key Texas points to close down the game in crunch time.

Wins vs #3 Carolina, #18 Iowa St, and now #6 WVU on the road!! Pretty impressive resume so far. Big VII is a beast though.

They said Cam might be back in late Feb.

Yeah I was thinking by then it might already be too late, because we'd already be out of it. Not so fast to myself. These guys are trying to give the big man something to look forward to. Still gonna be a tough road without him though. Just get in the tournament baby!

Yeah late February early March. Also possible he doesn't come back at all. Foot injuries on big guys can be tricky.

If he does come back it makes us a dangerous tournament t team.

I can't remember which one of you guys commented on Texas' wins over ranked teams. Does this win make it 3-1 vs ranked teams?

I agree.

It'd be great to get him back.

But big men and lower body injuries can linger. They say he is healing fast and well now. But that can always change when activity is ramped up.

The good news is no ones resume can match ours.
North Carolina
Iowa state
Washington
Standard (road)
Now Wvu(Road)

Very few teams can match that. Just beat the teams were supposed to from here on out and we should be solidly in. And if cam is back the most dangerous team I. The tournament.

Could be two losses. A&M ranked and Uconn has been in and out. Either way it's been pretty impressive

Great win. And great to see the team being able to win in such different ways... a high scoring overtime game against Iowa State, a low scoring defensive struggle at West Virginia... games with Ridley, games without him...

Seems like if you can stay in the top 6 in the Big 12 you should get into the tournament without too much worry... and right now we have the potential to be higher up than 6 the way we're playing.

Great win! Love how we actually seem to be improving throughout the season. Ridley or no Ridley we might be pretty damn good come March if they keep it up.

Great strategy on Shaka's part to slow the game down and force WVU to play a half-court game. You could tell Huggy didn't like it one bit. Great job on D of forcing WVU to shoot jumpers.

On Cam, I hope he isn't totally out of shape if he's able to make it back at the end of next month. Keeping up the conditioning with a broken foot is not the easiest thing. Can he swim laps?

They said during the game he was starting to do some work in the pool.

Horns helping our RPI!!!!

... more than most of your conference opponents are.

But then, I'm sure that one of our losses being to a decent team who plays in a bad basketball conference is actually helping our RPI too... which, was already #25 before our (RPI-raising) win earlier. Not bad for a team with 6 losses...

Meanwhile, according to RPI statistics, Texas has played the second toughest schedule in the country (again, before WVU who shouldn't weaken our SOS), so that's kind of cool.

Haven't watch the game but I have it recorded. Anytime you get out of WVU with a W is good!

That was a GREAT win. WVU gets after it. To pull that off on the road is fantastic. As previous poster said - take care of business and the Horns are in the tourney. Now its time to work on the seeding. Win Saturday and the conference championship is a possibility.
