Muschamp Fired

South Carolina buying out Herman would be the best for everyone involved. Now mind you, that 15 million could be spread out over four years vs 3 should Tom realize it's what is best for him. Now if Tom were smart, he would ask for another 3+ million and another year to give him 5 years minimum to put his squad in place at SC. An 8 win average annually at south Carolina would keep his job for quite some time. Of course if he jumps up and wins 10 every 4 or 5 years, he could be there indefinitely. But if Herman really wants the chance to be a big time coach, he would take this job and grow his resume, perfect his coaching techniques etc. Do well after 5 years in South Carolina and he would be ready for a blue blood job.
Doubt South Carolina is even considering Herman. USC is about done with blue blood program left overs. Spurrier could not replicate the same success he had at Florida. Then Muschamp echoed the same, that coming from a blue blood, Florida, does not mean the same or more success at a lower level program, SC. So I dont think they will buy into Herman being more successful at SC than he was here.

Since when is Florida a blue blood? They had some good years but they've never been considered a blue blood. Herman would be an upgrade over Muschamp and if Herman is as successful at SC as he was here that would be an improvement for them. I don't think SC has National Championship expectations like Texas does. They would be happy being competative in most games with the occasional upset which is right down Herman's alley.

With Florida being a blue blood, I guess it depends who you ask? From what I hear coming from USC fans, they believe they are a program that should be able to contend for a national championship and at minimum SEC championship. You and I don't think they have what it takes in a program to be national championships contenders but that isn't stopping them from believing they can and should be contenders. Still don't think they are even looking in Herman's direction UNLESS he is fired.

USC is in Los Angeles, and they belong to the PAC 12 conference. South Carolina is in Columbia, and they belong to the $EC. There is only one USC.

The expectation at South Carolina is to go about 8-4 and be reasonably competitive. They know that they're not going to compete for $EC or national championships. If a coach could go 10-2 or 9-3 there, they would do backflips.

Spurrier took South Carolina to places it hasn’t been before. Back to back to back 11 win seasons. They hadn’t approached that success before spurrier and haven’t been near that after him. Not sure they could of hoped for much more.

At this point I would pay USCe (e stand for east coast) to take Herman. This program needs Urban Meyer, period. Give us Urban Meyer and Texas wins a Natty in 4 years.

Yeah in all honesty if they wanted him I don’t think Texas would hold it up. I think even i Urban said no I think CDC thinks he can get better than Herman, and judging from his softball, women’s basketball hire and Men’s basketball hire at TCU he’s probably right

Why the hell would any major program in any P5 conference want Tom Herman, he is strickly CUSA material and nothing more.

It makes no sense for a school like SC to be paying such high buyouts in these times. There is absolutely 0 chance they end up much better than where they are. They are a part of the SEC where their socialistic revenue is guaranteed. I would deem this fiscally highly irresponsible.
It is fiscally highly irresponsible. But some of us are getting old and time is running out for us to see any prolonged decent football. The cost of keeping him was deemed greater.
