Here's what I'm hearing as of this morning ...

There's obviously slipping confidence on the Ohio State side, which is an interesting development because 12 days ago when talking to an OSU source, they were confident that both Lathan Ransom and Bijan were both in.

In checking today, things have been pretty quiet overall, but one person with OSU connections told me as of two days ago, OSU felt good but things may be changing. Most of this, I believe, is based off chatter from other recruits, rather than information that's coming directly from Bijan or "team sources." This same person felt like distance could be a factor, and while Austin isn't exactly close to Tucson, it is pretty easy to get back and forth (direct if going through Phoenix).

When I spoke with Robinson at the Five-Star Challenge, Texas did trail Ohio State but Robinson told me then (off the record ... safe to say it now though) that the race was very, very close. USC was down his list a bit behind the Buckeyes and Longhorns. If distance is playing a part in this one and he and his family feel it's easier to get back and forth to Austin, things were close enough that that factor could be enough to push Texas out in front.

One other source said there's some internal team chatter about Texas landing a highly-ranked prospect, but I don't really have any other information on that one. We'll see.

I did reach out to Bijan's coach this morning, but he's on vacation in London so he's a bit out of the loop. He did say his phone is blowing up today, so lots of people sniffing around on this one.

I've got a few other messages out ... will update when I hear more but there's a lot of smoke on this one, and if it's not Ohio State, Texas definitely makes the most sense.
