Texas holds the edge in so many ways here regardless of a thin RB room and a QB situation up in the air. The Longhorns roll into the bye week coming off another big win.

Texas 48 - Mississippi State 10

Travis Galey (4-0)

This is a bad Mississippi State team. They have one win, against FCS Eastern Kentucky. They’re likely to get one more win when the Bulldogs take on the Massachusetts Minutemen (which is technically an FBS opponent, but why?). Beyond that, it looks like a whole bunch of L’s coming to Starksville.

The Bulldogs give up the most points per game of any SEC team and this Texas offense is one of the best in the country.

On the other side of the ball, head coach Jeff Lebby named true freshman Michael Van Buren Jr. as the starting quarterback. All that young man has to do in his first career start is try to go up against one of the best defenses in the country.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Texas 52 - Mississippi State 3

Geoff Ketchum (4-0)

I think this ends up being more one-sided than La-Monroe. The Longhorns score three touchdowns on defense/special teams and nothing Sark does will make this less ugly.

Texas 59 – Mississippi State 9

Anwar Richardson (4-0)

We are no longer living in the B.S. days - Before Sark.

Back then, we could not assume Texas would demolish an inferior opponent. We always had to factor in "anything could happen" because there were times when Texas did meet our expectations. Maryland happened twice.

However, Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian is not messing around in 2024. The Longhorns' average margin of victory is 48-5 through four games. Sarkisian's offense has produced at least 50 points in three games this season. Texas has recorded seven interceptions this season, which leads the SEC and ranks fourth nationally.

And Mississippi State is terrible.

Texas 55 – Mississippi State 13

Jason Suchomel (4-0)

Texas could win this one by 40 if it wanted to but Sark goes easy on MSU in his SEC opener. Still, the Longhorns cruise to an easy win.

Texas 45 – Mississippi State 13

Quarter (4-0)
