I got a 60 gal. tank over the weekend and I'm going to set it up as a saltwater tank. This will be my first one so I'm hoping it goes well and I don't end up pulling my hair out. I would like to do a FOWLR tank. I Had a few questions if anyone could help me out with them.
1. Should I do live rock and live sand if I do decide to go with a full on FOWLR tank?
2. Do I need 1 or 2 power heads for a 60 gal tank?
3. Should I go bigger on the filter? I have 60 a gal tank so should I bump up to 100 gal filter?
4. Protein skimmer... yes or no?
5. Should I use a supplement to speed up the nitrogen cycle in the tank or just let it cycle on it's own?
These are just a few questions off the top of my head after doing some research on my own. Seems to be a lot of different opinions out there and would like to hear some from the board. I want to do it right but I do have my limits on what I want to spend. Any brand or product recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.
