Got to thinking about this yesterday. My dad’s been gone a long time now, but of course I still think of him every day. One of the things that is a constant reminder is the movies we saw together at the theater when I was a kid. He loved well-made westerns and war movies. Some of the ones I distinctly remember seeing with him, some more than once (before video devices or streaming, young'uns, you had to wait for the second theater run of successful movies):
  • The Guns of Navarone
  • The Alamo (John Wayne version)
  • Lawrence of Arabia
  • The Longest Day
  • High Noon (saw it on TV and was his favorite western)
I’m sure other OBs have some similar memories.
