There's a report out from AggieYell that UT DL coach Brick Haley has agreed to contract terms with Texas A&M and only a couple small issues need to be resolved to close the contract.
I can't really confirm or deny that information, but wanted to pass along what I was told a little bit ago. Per someone with direct knowledge of the situation, Texas did agree to match the offer A&M made, as OB's Anwar Richardson reported last night. And as of late last night, Haley was leaning towards staying in Austin.
You all know these things can change by the hour, so this thing could still go either way but we have not heard anything that indicates this one is all but done for A&M. The best information I have comes from last night, but from what I can gather today, it sounds like no decision has been made yet.
As has been discussed on this board, there are other factors weighing into Haley's decision beyond just financial compensation, so it could be a decision he's really struggling with.
I do expect final word will come out soon, probably at some point today. But I honestly do not know which way this one will go.
