Kills me? No I cant say it does. I loved how last season went. I mean, in reality why should it? Did it cost them a spot in the playoff? did it cost them the big 12 championship? Just not sure why I should personally feel bothered by it considering how the season went. Was I happy after the game? No. Did it really matter? Again, no. So maybe im just numb but I cant find reason to be so disturbed by a loss that meant little.
I personally find that the entire season is more important than a game you play in october. I dont understand why that's funny or entertaining. Do you find it difficult to sleep at night because iowa state and their backup qb beat you 24-0?
OU's first goal , each year, is to win the big 12. It's not to beat texas, or osu or anyone else, goal to win the conference. Check.
The goal of most top programs, after winning their conference is a spot in the playoff to play for a championship. Check.
They didnt win, but achieved more last year than really anyone thought was possible. But i should give a hoot about a 7 pt loss to tx? In the grand scheme of the season, again, why would any reasonable minded OU fan be concerned or unhappy about it? It was a awesome season, very special whether you agree or not. Of over 100 fbs teams, only a couple had a better season than OU, so yeah, great season. On top of that, it springboarded OU into what's already looking like Stoops' best class of his career. So that's a pretty nice byproduct of a great season.
Hindsight is of course 20/20 as OU was on a 7 game win streak, one of the hottest teams in the country just coming off a huge 7 touchdown victory in the de-facto big 12 championship game. OU did not put their best foot forward for the bowl game and got beat by a better and more prepared team. It was a great year for OU, on offense and defense, so yeah it was special, it was above par, especially considering how bad they were coming off the '14 season.
Thanks, it was a great season and I loved it. Sucks for baylor and tcu.
