I realize this is the corral but this hashtag the media is pushing seems to have some issues with it. Can someone clarify?
1) Why are they attacking the girl with the hashtag... should it be StayMadScalia or something. Isn't it a response to his insensitive/odd comments regarding black students' performance in certain colleges?
2) Isn't the hashtag itself supporting racism, proudly and blatantly? If the people posting it support race-based admissions aren't they in effect supporting racism?
3) Several of the posts with the hashtag themselves I find extremely racist "#StayMadAbby you pasty pop tart". Wouldn't that be considered extremely vile if you replaced 'pasty pop tart' with something referencing how dark someone's skin was... etc?
I don't get how racism is great for one culture but not acceptable for another. That doesn't seem to get unity accomplished imo. Why can't we just eliminate it across the board.
Ah well, it's the corral. I know what to expect posting this here.
