Good move.
All Big 12 teams not bowl eligible for bowl games are getting a new coach.

He is one of the greatest ever. He took a toilet of a program (KSU was actually on the cover of SI for being the worst program in the US), became competitive coming with an OT loss to Aggies of playing in the national title game, retired and watched the program return to oblivion, then unretired at an advanced age to bring the program back to a competitive level and bowl games. We will see how far they can drop in the next couple of years. Les Miles knew what he was doing - he'll lock down the State of Kansas!

Word around the campfire was that Snyder wanted to retire a few years ago but he wanted his son to succeed him. Now for some reason the powers that be at KSU didn't want his son to succeed him. After all that man has done for that school the least, the very least, they could do was to let him pick his successor.

Here's to Bill Snyder for a truly remarkable career.

It won’t be a winning record against UT for much longer.

Kansas is about to jump to #9 in conference. Kansas State will miss the wizard, and suck again for decades.

Most likely. They had been to one minor bowl game ever before he arrived and for five decades had more one or no win seasons each decade than winning records. The most wins in any decade, 50s, 60s, 70s or 80s was 31.

People being called a class act happens way too often this days. But Snyder was.

The state of Kansas annually has less than 25 D1 prospects from their high schools. I hae one old Texas football magazine saying one year less than ten football players from Kansas high schools signed anywhere. Yet he found a way.

More than any other college coach, Snyder reminds me of John Clark, the highly respected hc at Plano in the 60s and 70s, and then athletic director at least 20 years. The stadium is named for him. I could pay no man a higher compliment.
