Butler offensive lineman graduate transfer Tommy Kennedy tells me he has been in touch with Texas offensive line coach Herb Hand recently. Kennedy announced in mid-November that he'd be a graduate transfer for the 2019 season and he has been a hot prospect in recent weeks.
Kennedy has picked up recent offers from the likes of Arizona, Oklahoma, Boston College, Oklahoma State, Florida State, Miami and Arizona State. Auburn, Florida State and Miami are among the schools that have been by this week to see him.
Kennedy is a 6-4, 290-pound tackle who has started 11 games each of the last two years. He's originally from Lake Bluff, Illinois. He politely declined my interview request saying he's not speaking to the media right now so we'll follow up on this one at a later date, but it sounds like Texas is giving him a close look and I wouldn't be shocked at all to see the Longhorns jump into the mix with an offer.
