I am very much in favor of requiring an ID in order to vote. IDs are required for dozens of daily events. IDs are needed to cash a check, buy ammo, or beer. For a judge to call a Voter ID a form of 'poll tax' is ridiculous and what has become the norm for today's judiciary.
Will requiring an ID to vote curb all voter fraud? No, of course not. However, it is a good start. I realize the resident Liberals will scream racism, blah, blah, blah. I know that many countries around the world require some form of ID to vote (I mention this because Liberals want America to provide universal health care and do away with the death penalty because other industrialized nations do).
What our nation needs more than anything else is judicial reform. What I mean is we need judges who will base their decisions upon the Constitution and based upon their feelings or what is popular today.
