The three best teams that year were Auburn, UT and UGA
Beat Auburn and loss to UGA on a muff punt.
Funny thing is Miami was given the NC that year.
Auburn deserves it. If that punt was fielded UT would have won over UGA.

If Oklahoma or another Big XII team gets into the CFP the Sugar Bowl has to take a Big XII team.
The Big XII and SEC have a tie in with the Sugar Bowl.

Reasoning I believe is that UT will be ranked and with the hunger in the fanbase that game will be soldout in minutes, with packed hotels and huge ratings.
Especially if you play another school with a huge fan base.
